"OH GOSH, I'M SO THIRSTY. I WISH I HAD SOMEONE WHO COULD GET ME A NICE, COLD, REFRESHING REFILL OF WATER!"

Kou's eye twitched at the intention.

"Oh, wait! I do have someone. MINAMI, COULD YOU GET ME SOME WATER?"

It was only the first hour, and he was already moving back and forth like crazy. All for this stupid, stupid, stupid favor. He turned around to look at Tanaka, who was sitting on the bench waving his water bottle around.

He walked up to him, grabbed the bottle without saying a word and went to refill it outside, since they didn't have a portable water storage barrel. He headed outside of the gym to the water fountain and started filling it up.

"So, you're the infamous water boy, huh?"

He whipped his head around, caught off guard and surprised to see someone else, also apparently based off the uniform, who was from the volleyball team. He didn't remember seeing him in the gym before. He was blonde with glasses and extremely tall. Kou didn't notice it at first, but was marveled at the height difference when he realized he was being towered over.

He chose to look impassive, like he always did.

"Yeah." was all he bothered to say. He wasn't interested in speaking to anyone or making small talk. He wanted these hours to go by as fast as possible so he could get things over with. His disinterest made him seem obnoxious. The blonde scoffed but didn't say anything. He glared at him in silence for a short minute, then walked back off into the gym.

Kou swore under his breath. "Fuck me. This is so degrading." He roughly turned the knob, closed the lid on the bottle and headed back to the gym as well. He stood in the doorway, looking in on the players who were in the middle of practice.

His eye caught something that interested him.

That's when he saw him.

He couldn't take his eyes away.

He probably looked like a weirdo.

But he didn't care.

He was captivated.

And he didn't know why.

Kou stared at the boy with full focus, eyeing his every move and taking notice of every small insignificant detail on his face.

He was mesmerized.

The way he looked when caught off guard.

The way he watched the others play in the match.

That innocent look of wonder in his eyes.

He had freckles that scattered around his nose and cheeks, olive brown hair with a small lock that stuck out on it's own straight in the middle of his scalp, round doe-shaped dark brown eyes and tiny ears that were almost completely hidden.

It was like he was in a trance. But Kou didn't care if he looked like an idiot. He just couldn't look away.

He didn't need to worry about that, because a ball came flying out of no where and hit him straight in the face, sending the boy flying back onto the floor. His body hit the shut door behind him, the impact of his back meeting the steel door made him in wince pain. Suga rushed over to help.
