"Quiet!" The captain yelled.
The overlapping of screaming voices abruptly stopped. The four upperclassmen looked at him in unison with fear in their eyes. They knew that whenever Daichi had resorted to yelling it was wisest to shut up.
"Thank you." He cleared his throat and continued. "We're here today to have a team meeting about a potential new member... that for some reason, I hadn't been informed about until now." He glanced at Suga and Tanaka when he mentioned that he hadn't been told anything, causing them to nervously gulp. "Let's be civil instead of talking over each other like barking dogs. We'll never be able to hear each other out if we can't actually listen, so behave yourselves." He shot Tanaka and Noya a sharp look which they both shivered under.
"Alright, the first one to speak should be Tanaka, since he didn't tell me about this in the first place." Daichi leaned on the doorway and crossed his arms while waiting for him to speak up.
Tanaka's eyes widened as he got up on his feet with his hands behind his back. "Ahem. I...Um.. well, you see–"
"Why did you put that poor kid in such an embarrassing position?"
"It wasn't my idea, I swear!"
"Then who's was it?" Daichi questioned, looking unimpressed at his excuse. "A friend of mine... kinda.. well not really. But it was his idea! He sent Minami over to me as a favor. All he told me was that he was willing to do it."
Daichi cocked a brow. "Friend of yours?"
Tanaka frantically nodded. "Kimura, you know him don't you? He's a third year."
A worried expression grew on the captains face. He knew Kimura. He definitely knew him. Almost every third year did. He had a reputation. He was a notorious bully and a huge troublemaker. He broke every rule possible, got into countless fights, and even almost set the school on fire one time. Daichi always wondered why he hadn't been expelled yet. He even remembers the time Kimura tried to bully him in his first year, but when Asahi walked up to him to say hello Ryusuke immediately backed down and ran off before he could say anything.
"I know of him. I know you can be a hothead Tanaka, but why would you be friends with a guy like Kimura?"
"I just said we're not really friends. He owed me a favor after I beat him in an arm wrestling match, that's all." Tanaka said, scratching his head. He sighed in shame. He was starting to feel bad about the whole situation. "I didn't know he'd send a second year to be my personal lackey as payment. I guess I underestimated him..."
Daichi didn't doubt that Kimura would be the type of person to do something like that. It made him question about who organized the whole sweat rag situation Suga told him about earlier. Apparently, Kou said that it was a friend of his in the same class who dared him, but the extra information Tanaka told him was saying otherwise.
"Why don't we talk about what we're going to do with him? That seems to be the only thing we should be focusing on right now." Suga chimed
in. Daichi nodded his head in agreement. "I think we should just let him go, but I do feel bad for him. Maybe we should let him hang around practices for a while? If there's a slight chance that he didn't really agree to this and Kimura is making him do it, then I'd feel better if we just let him hang around for the time being."Noya suddenly jumped up from the floor and stood straightened like an army soldier.
"I, Nishinoya Yuu, vouch for Minami Koharu, who I barely know, that he's not as bad as everyone says!"
