Annabelle
I was going to skip again.
Ok, no, I was not.
The Cubs t-shirt made me curious about what he had up his sleeve.
Amanda is my co-worker and, most of the time, my best partner at work. I say most of the time because she was standing there giving me kissy faces as I opened the package to get ready.
"Amanda, if I text you a basketball emoji, you need to call me and say you need help."
"Not happening," she said.
I did not even know where to go. I was going to get ready now that it was the end of the work day and then call him. I had been talking myself up for the last thirty minutes.
I kept putting it off.
I started to grab the tissue paper out of the box; whoever delivered this was a pro at wrapping outfits. I should return the outfit he sent me yesterday.
It was a little creepy; he knew what size I was too.
I threw my shirt off, standing in the middle of my office. The blinds were pulled so the guy I randomly waved at across the way at the other office building could not see me half naked.
Amanda did my morning workouts with me some days, so we had changed in front of each other enough times that it was not awkward.
My pants were off and folded back in the box.
I was pulling on the pair of jeans sent to me when there was a knock at my door.
I assumed it was Renee. "Just a second, Renee." I called out as Amanda called out, "Come in."
It was not Renee.
It was him.
The guy I had been working myself up to call for the last half hour.
"Shit," I said as he stared at me. "I guess it's nothing you have not seen already."
He finally turned around and faced the open door; he then closed it.
"Seen already?" Amanda asked out loud.
While Dash said, "I'm sorry, the receptionist was leaving, and she told me I could go on in." That sounded like Renee; she was an a-ok receptionist. I wouldn't shed a tear if she put her two weeks in.
I threw on the Cubs t-shirt he had sent me, and I thanked the pantie gods that I wore a matching black set today. Dash looked surprised when he saw my body, and before he had turned around, I watched as his eyes quickly swept my body.
The all-white, very in high-top tennis shoes were the last things I put on.
I threw my hair up in a high ponytail. Dash had turned around while I finished getting ready. It was the less awkward thing to happen while I was around him.
I loved the curls that bounced when I walked from the high ponytail.
"Well, you two have fun," Amanda said, but I knew what her eyes were saying. She was still confused about why I had said it was nothing you had not seen before. I would have to text her later; I had absently forgotten to tell her about the start of the pitch I had given him.
She left Dash and me standing alone in my office.
"I would say I'm sorry I dropped in, but as usual, you entertain me, Annabelle." He said.
"You mean you liked seeing me half naked?" I spoke without thinking. I did that around him; no filter at all.
"It was a perk of coming up to get you, I would say."
