Dash:

She said yes.

"You will move in?" I asked her slowly, not wanting to ruin this.

"Yeah, I will." She said, getting out of the car and letting the door fall shut.

She was so chill. So cool.

Gosh, I wanted to be like that.

Anything dealing with her had me in a jumbled mess of emotions. I scrambled out and followed her into the house.

"Just ask it." She called over her shoulder as she grabbed a cup and then filled it with water; she downed it. They refilled it up and then handed it to me.

"How soon are we talking?"

This was the first time she looked a little nervous.

"When do you want me?"

That was a silly question. I had taken her to the bar tonight because I couldn't wait until the night's end.

"I'll handle it all," I said, trying to hide my excitement.

She nodded her head, and that was that.

She had a late meeting at work the next night, and I was watching the front door. I sent my car service to pick her up. I was hoping that perk would help with what she would see when she got home. Yea, technically, it was her home now.

It was an hour and a half later when I saw the lights pulling up to the house.

Showtime.

The lights were dim, and champagne was chilling in a bottle chiller on ice. Yeah, I went and picked up one today. It was terrific the items you could find in New York when you needed them.

"Dash?" She called out, a little confused. "Is that my..." she cut herself off as she looked around the house. "Dash," her eyes were welling up with tears.

I stepped forward, wanting to be near her. I didn't know if they were happy tears or sad tears.

"Dash," she said quietly.

"It's too much. You probably meant like a month from now?"

She took the step that was left between us, and she kissed me gently on the lips. "This is perfect."

She turned to look back at the furnishings. "You didn't have to bring anything here."

"I wanted you to feel like it was your home too. It's our home now." She snorted at that. "You are living here now. It's our home."

"Home," she said quietly as she looked at her end tables by the couch. I had my interior designer come in and rearrange the pieces. The packers had started last night after I made a call and had my driver drive the key to them. New York was a place of dreams.

"Everything I didn't use is in storage. And your lease is paid up and I told him he could rent it out sooner if he wanted to. I hope that is ok."

She nods her head. "It's perfect, Dash." I look her in the eyes, and that's when I see how sad she looks.

"Annabelle? What is wrong?"

And then she is sobbing.

"You do not want me." She sobbed and then wiped her eyes.

"I can assure you; I want you pretty damn bad. Why are you crying?"

"I had a late meeting, and it went horribly. I was fired after the dinner tonight."

My arms are around her, and I let her cry on my shoulder.

"I have to clear out my desk tomorrow. There is no way I can help pay for this place."

"Annabelle," my voice was stern.

"Dash," she said, her voice weak. "I can't be a user, and that's what I would feel like."

I tisked at her. "And I want to be here for you. So let me be here." I wanted to ask what happened at work but would wait until she was ready to tell me.

Annabelle:

He had sent his car service for me. That was the only thing that brought me to him. I would have Uber home and drink a bottle of wine by myself in misery. But I knew if I did not get in that car that he would track me down. And to be honest, I didn't have the money to waste on a night of binge drinking because I was fired.

It all happened so fast. I was getting the bigger office, and now I was fired. Thanks to Mrs. Fancy Feast and somewhat Ryan. I knew Ryan had pulled his company out because of what had occurred. Maybe Syd even asked him too. It was the perfect storm of shit.

But I never would have guessed in a million years I would be laughing after the night I had just had.

"Would you rather get a lizard or a possum as a pet?" Dash asked me. We were drinking our second bottle of champagne and throwing cards back and forth to each other on the living room floor.

"Possum. I have always thought they were cute."

"I knew you were deranged." Dash smiled at me.

I get on my knees and crawl over to him.

"Oh, I like this look a lot." He said wickedly.

"And I surprisingly like being rescued by you." I hiccuped on my way to him to still.

"I live to be your knight in shiny armor."

And he had been just that tonight and I wanted to reward him for that.

So I started by unzipping his pants and my lips connecting on him.
