Moving from one abusive household to another, Skye is sold to a billionaire, Blaze, who carries the abuse forward, until...
Put in an insecure girl, a hot, sweet brother-in-law and a jaw-dropping, possessive husband.
Falling for someone who is hell...
Chase and I stood at a clear opening on a hill, over looking a clean, long river with lush green hills surrounding it. There was a stand alone sunroom a feet away from us.
It was sleek back with thin glass planes and wooded wall along with cobblestoned flooring. There was a 4 seater dining table as well as a 'L' shaped sofa. It looked extremely cozy. It was decorated with plants and a jute basket.

I look up at chase with a full blown smile, expressing my gratitude and excitement. I looked up at hime to see that he was already looking at me. His grin widened further, if that was even possible, looking at my smile and expression.
"Thank you" I said softly, leaning onto him. He wrapped me in his arms and kissed my hair. "I haven't brought anyone here since..."
He didnt have to continue to know exactly what he was talking about. "It is ok, we dont have to talk about it" I reassured him and he gladly accepted it.
Deciding to change the topic, we decided to play 20 questions, to get to know each other better.
"Let's start simple. What's your favorite colour?" He asked. "Black. Favorite food?" I asked without a second thought. "Sushi. Weirdest dream you had?"
"Ooohhhhh that is a good one. This is funny. I was at home when I got a call from my friend saying that they wanted to go for a walk around the neighborhood. I gladly agreed and went over to the pharmacy they were waiting at for me. The first thing i hear when I enter that lane were chickens. I was so confused so I went further down the road only to see my friends chasing different chicken on the road, trying to catch them so that the pharmacist could butcher them or prepare them or whatever so that they could be taken to their houses for dinner. It was like a 'pick your own chicken for dinner' typa thing. So yea, that's my weirdest dream" I ranted out.
He looked at me in absolute amusement before bursting out into a fit of laughter.
"hey" I said with a frown on my face, playing upset but he looked scared and awkward and guilty so I burst out laughing, trying to ease out his expression. He looked at me like I grew a second head, so confused hahaha
"anyways, carrying on, money or love?" I asked him "love" he said without hesitation. I looked at him impressed before grinning. "Do you love anyone?" he asked, feeling unsure. "Well honestly? There is someone called Shawn" i said, mocking awkwardness. "Oh ok, a-are you in a relationship with this guy?" "Well I mean it's kinda hard to be in a relationship with a sheep" I told him, grinning. "I am sorry, what?" he questioned, confused "I didn't mean a guy called Shawn, I meant Shawn as in Shawn the sheep Shawn" "That is a lot of Shawns. Let me get this straight, you meant Shawn the sheep?" "yessir that is exactly what i meant."
Chase looked at me like I had completely lost my nuts and bolts before bursting in to a fit of laughter.
I cracked a lopsided smile and swung my arms around his neck, laughing into his shoulder while he held me tight.
He spun me around in circles, lifting my feet of the ground while making intense eye contact. It was honestly hot.
"Anyways" I said, dragging out the 's', "let's continue?"
We carried on with the game, finding out new things about each others and not gonna lie, Chase is pretty cool. He's like a blast of fresh air and is completely crazy, but in a good way.
We hung out for a little more time before he decided to drop me back to my house.
I gave him the directions to the party kids house and he looked confused as ever but just went with it.
It took us another drive of half an hour and another packet of sour skittles before we reached. He stopped right in front of my house instantly of stopping on the opposite side as there were already too many drunk kids hanging out there.
I quickly gave him a peck on the cheek and the tip of his nose before exchanging numbers with him and setting up a plan for our next date, with by the way, he was a nervous yet adorable wreck.
I got out of the car and made my way up the stairs to my flat. Chase tried to convince me to let him drop me up but I gently let him down. I'm extremely exhausted. But, I regret that decision now. Under the door, through the crack, I could see shadows of people moving with the light on.
I was internally freaking out. I decided to call Chase to see if he was by chance still down stairs. He wasn't. He picked up my call almost immediately and told me the former when I asked him if he was still down. He said he could drive back to the apartment. I am pretty sure he said that cause he could make out I'm panicking. I refused to tell him why I was scared, he had already done a lot for me in a very short period of time. I didn't want to feel like a burden.
From under the creek, I saw that a large figure stopped pacing and stood right at the door. Before I could make a move, the door burst opened.
I let out a shriek when a pair of arms wrapped around my neck. I froze, not knowing who it was. They smelled familiar though.
The pair of unknown hands was pulled back by an unknown force. I opened my eyes to see an over excited best friend. I let out a happy yell before jumping onto Carter. I hugged the life out of him before I decided to look up.
My blood ran cold, my face paled at the sight in front of me. There, in my flat, with his jaw hardened and his hands clenched, stood Blaze.
