• Final Moments •

Y/n's POV

Sanemi was wounded. Heavily wounded. And it was because of me. Just as I was about to strike, he got up.

"Wind Breathing, sixth form: Black Wind Mountain Mist." Sanemi swung his sword to attack Kokushibo-san but he dodged it.

I was surprised to see that Sanemi was able to attack despite having these many injuries. It's almost inhuman of him. He has stopped the bleeding himself. He was coagulating his blood with his wind breathing. Something which he has taught me long ago.

Both of them, started attacking each other at an abnormal speed. Something which i could not see as it was so quick.

I was just standing there. Doing nothing to help Sanemi. So, I decided that in the next opening, I'm gonna jump in to help.

The duel slowed down a little, so i was able to see it now, it looked like Sanemi was defeated. But before Kokushibo-san could land final blow, Sanemi pulled out Genya's gun to stop him. And he shot it, but it barely did anything. That was also my cue to jump in, so i did. Right when I was able to strike, I was cut off, again, but this time by Himejima-san.

"The Demon Slayer Corps will never disappear.. until we eradicate all the demons from this world." He said.

"Y/n, you know what to do right?"

"Yes." And i disappeared from the scene.

For a few months now, me and Himejima-san had been planning a combo attack, since he knew Moon Breathing was a strong Breathing form.

Gyomei's POV

"Shinazugawa, stitch up your stomach wound right now. While you're doing that, me and y/n will handle this guy." I told Sanemi.

I started spinning my Spiked Flail and Axe, approaching the demon. A few seconds later I start attacking where I could sense the demon, but it kept dodging my attacks.

"Stone Breathing, Second Form: Upper Smash!" I threw both my axe and spiked flail for a pincer move before smashing down in the chain to cause the flail to then rebound and smash the demon from afar.

What I could sense was that the chain had gotten tangled around the demon's neck and it was trying to cut it open, but miserably failing at it.

I withdrew my weapon so i could attack again but I could no longer sense the demon. It felt like it has slipped away in the opening i created while I withdrew my weapon. I started searching for the coward demon.

As I was searching, Genya, Tokito and Shinazugawa decided to join me too.

Y/n's POV

I was looking for an alternate entrance for the room that Himejima-san was currently fighting Kokushibo-san in, but as much as I searched I didn't find it.

Suddenly I felt a presence behind me, I turned around to see that it was Kokushibo-san.

"Y/n, looks like we're finally alone, let's have a final duel, cause in this either you're going to die, or I'm going to die." He said with a grin.

"Bring it on then." I replied with a smirk and drew out my sword.

"Moon Breathing, eight form: Moon-Dragon Ringtail." I used my sword and created a gigantic crescent shaped slash that slowly decreased in size, creating dozens of crescent moon blades. But it didn't even affect him. Now I know why he was the second strongest demon.

Everytime i did this attack on Douma-san, it hurt him, just a little but it still did. For Kokushibo-san it was nothing.

"Moon Breathing, fifth form: Moon Spirit Calamitous Eddy!" Kokushibo-san made multiple curved slashes layering over one another, creating a rising vortex of sword slashes and crescent moon blades. I had no way to counter it, so i just continued taking the attack directly on my sword.

Since there was no other was I could attack Kokushibo-san, I decided to use the sixteenth form.

It's not like couldn't use it, I refused to use it. I had feared death, and the sixteenth form meant death to me as it was fit for a demon's body, not a human's. But I was ready. I was ready to sacrifice myself if demons could get eradicated.

I saw Sanemi, Himejima-san, Mui and Genya enter where we were.

"Y/n what're you doing?!" Sanemi yelled.

"Stay back! I know a way to damage him, once it's done, I won't be able to attack anymore, the four of you take that as an opening and kill him!" I shouted in responce.

So this was it.

"Moon Breathing, sixteenth form: Moonbow, Half Moon." I created a barrage of downward crescent slashes from an extremely long and wife range, resulting in a powerful six-fold slash crashing down on Kokushibo-san; thr attack itself was powerful enough to create miniature craters where the slashes had landed.

I took a couple of steps back, not being able to see anything that's happening anymore. And I fell down. I tried getting up but my body wouldn't move. I had burned all my energy for this attack and I could feel death nearing.

After a few minutes, I felt someone's presence near me.

"Y/N!! TELL ME YOU'RE ALIVE."

I recognised that voice, it was Sanemi's.

"Yes, I'm alive." I responded and I immediately started coughing.

"WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT, IF ALL FIVE OF US WOULD'VE WORKED TOGETHER NONE OF US WOULD HAVE TO DIE. NOW LOOK AT YOU."

"I had no other choice Sanemi."

"NOW COME ON GET UP! WE STILL HAVE TO DEFEAT MUZAN."

"I can't, I'm sorry."

"Wait, are you leaving us?"

"Yes."

"I was just kidding when I said you were dying, I thought you were just exhausted."

"Don't leave me, please stay y/n, please!" Sanemi continued.

"I wish I could, but I'm sorry. It's time for me to go."

"Y/n, please don't leave, I'm begging you! I love you, please don't leave."

"I love you too." I said smiling.

And everything went black.

Pretty sure I forgot to mention this was the 2nd last chapter.

But anyways don't attack me.

Also I will update this again in a 2-3 hours for the final chapter, and will update the Epilogue by tomorrow.
