The sky was a dark purple color, darker than my dress. There were many people walking in and out. Not many were stopped outside to smoke. This must be a special occasion. Also Jake dressed in a normal tuxedo. Figures.

The place was huge. It was as big as America itself! It had to be 90 feet in length and width. It was huge. It must be beautiful inside.

"If you say anything..." he said trailing off. "Look, your coming in with me, your leaving with me. Got it?" I nodded, anxious to get into the ballroom. This would be my first ball, ever.

We walked into the large ball without holding hands. We pulled the doors open, and I could swear we probably looked stupid.

There were hundreds of men and women wearing elegant clothes, like mine. Jake's wasn't so elegant, more alright than fantastic.

I heard the hush of the whole ballroom. I wondered if there were even celebrities here. Maybe I had something on my face. Currently our feet got us into the doorway, not the ballroom yet. The ballroom was even quite. I must have had something on my face.

"Is that Piper Clark?" a voice nearby asked.

"I think so," another voice answered. A path was made into the ballroom making easy access inside.

I got to the glass door, pushing it open. There was the ballroom. A glass chandelier was hung up above. People were talking, but were still quite. If someone laughed you could hear it.

I looked around. I saw Harry, Louis, Liam, Zayn, and Gemma starring at me, along with most of the ballroom. A boy with brown and blonde hair was in front of the boy, clutching his stomach laughing. He was the one you heard.

He noticed the quiet room, and turned to see what had happened during his fit of laughter. Then he looked at me. His smiled faded, and he dropped the champaghne he held in his hand. I hadn't prepared for this.

The boy starring at me, the one who dropped his drink was Niall. He wore a tuxedo, once clean of champaghne. His face turned from happy to serious. I couldn't tell if it was mad, or sad, but it had me confused.

"Niall," I barely whispered. I don't believe anyone heard me say it. Jake reached for my hand, and I couldn't disagree. If he said anything here I'd be in trouble.

I turned my head, facing the floor. Conversation began again. I didn't want to hurt myself. If I began to like Niall again I'd be in trouble. I'd just hurt myself. I'd roll myself in hurt, espeically when I couldn't even reach Niall. I couldn't grasp him within my fingertips.

I closed my eyes and regained myself. I'd be okay. I'll be okay. I'll be perfectly fine. I'll live throughout. I'll get through it all. I would be okay. I'd be alright. Nothing could hurt me. Jake would protect me. Yep, shitting myself again.

I followed Jake to a table. He got me and him a drink of punch. When he was gone, Harry came over to take his seat. "Hi," I choked.

"Hello. How are you, I'm Harry. Nice to meet you," he joked. I chuckled lightly. Jake came back, and sat across from me. "Hello, I'm Harry, her brother." Harry raised his hand to shake with him, but he scoffed. Harry yanked his hand back.

"Good to know. Drink it," he hissed thrusting my drink at me.

"Wow, good pick Pipe," Harry said, obviously planning to start a fight. I didn't want to though.

"Excuse me? Gay prick." Harry pushed his chair out, making a loud screeching sound against the hard wood floor. The chair was pushed out at least ten feet. Suddenly the room was quiet, and everyone was starring.

Niall, Louis, Gemma, Liam, and Zayn were at my side suddenly. Liam laid his hand on Harry's shoulder. Gemma cowered back with me. "What happened?" she whispered. I stayed silent, starring at the two boys. I just hoped Liam could stop the fight.

"I'm not gay, cunt. Piper why would you date such a bastard?" I lowered my head into my arms. Gemma patted my back, as the two boys fired insults at each other constantly.

"Fuck you ass hole, I can kick your ass within a second."

"Go fuck your boyfriend."

"I'm not gay you stupid bitch."

I ran off to the bathroom before Harry and Jake could actually fight. I had no choice in the fight. I couldn't stop it. Gemma followed me, I only knew because her heels click-clacked against the wood like mine.

Luckily the bathrooms were singles that locked. I locked myself in the room, crying until I couldn't anymore. I unlocked the door and stepped out. Gemma was no where in sight. I walked out of the empty bathroom into the ballroom. Only one person was at the bar. Harry.

I walked up to the boy. He was drinking water. I ordered a shot of vodka and sat next to him. We were the only ones in the room. We were the only ones beside the bartender in the now abandoned ballroom.

I drunk the shot down, feeling the burn in my throat. Harry decided to drive me home since he was only left. He was staying somewhere elses. Only Jake and maybe a few on the boys were home.

I opened the door and walked into the dark night to my house. No fans were outside. No one was there. I thought my house was empty, but then I saw my room light was on.

I opened the door, walked the stairs, and opened my door. Jake was on my bed, his head in his hands. I thought I heard a door open and close, but I didn't see anything.

"I thought," Jake began to say quietly, "I said to come home with me!" Jake asked, but more exclaimed it than asked. His hand was raised above me, hitting my cheek in the usual place, but this time slamming me hard into my dresser. A few things fell, but I didn't care. My head hurt. "DID I NOT SAY THAT?" His hand repeatedly hit me, different places everytime. I only heard his slams of his hand on me, my head bouncing into the wooden dresser, and my cries for help.

"Jake, please stop!" I cried into the blackness.

Once he cleaned the blood off his knuckles he ran down the stairs. I soon heard his car drive away. I pulled myself up, but dark clouds spotted my vision. I stumbled into my bed, pulling a cover as far as I could. I knew I'd pass out soon.

I heard my door open, but I couldn't see anything.

"Your hand fits in mine

Like it's made just for me

But bear this in mind

It was meant to be

And I'm joining up the dots with the freckles on your cheeks

And it all makes sense to me," a beautiful voice sang before I passed on into the dark closure of sleep.

I opened my eyes to the bright sun beating on me. I looked at my swollen face. I couldn't go out at all.

I text Jake.

To Jake: are you coming over today ? xxx

Jake: nope. Maybe tomorrow. And stop the cutesy shit.

To Harry: can you bring some soup over? I'm not feeling well. Sick. Don't come in though

My face was purple, and bigger than a balloon. I couldn't be seen like such. Harry came over within a few hours.

I laid in bed, watching television the whole day. Nothing happened really. Around 4 Pm someone burst into my room. It was Niall.

A/N I WANNA SCREAM. AND SHOUT. AND LET IT ALL OUT. Hhahaha.
