My English teacher hates the word 'mean'.
I, on the other hand, love it.
She thinks it's too basic, simple, vague and boring.
She thinks it makes us sound like children who can't think of a better word.
While I can agree with her when it is overused, when used at the correct time it can be the perfect word.
It can show that characters are arguing over something childish or trivial.
It can show how a character is mean in everyway and using the long list of synonyms can't sum them up as well as that one simple word can.
