My interpretation of weirdcore / dreamcore

Recently I've been getting back into these two aesthetics, they are both just generally appealing in a way to me.

Now before I start this I wanna make something apparent! There is no wrong or right way to see an aesthetic, it's all up to you. This is just my personal opinion and it is not automatically correct (Wish it was smh.)

I believe weirdcore and dreamcore are both about trauma, or maybe I'm looking too far into common themes. Mainly repressed memories and a sense of innocence may be a way a child's brain copes after witnessing a traumatic event. Or maybe my brain is fucking screwed and I cling to the tiniest hope to be represented accurately to myself.

I also could be overanalyzing a funny aesthetic with no real meaning.

(Yes I'm aware traumacore exists too, I'm just kinda on edge with it. I can understand it being people's ways of coping with their trauma, but for me, it seems strange. There's nothing wrong with liking the aesthetic, at least I don't think so!)
