chapter 2: gaara of the sand

The next morning team kakashi met up at the hokage tower walking together at a steady pace, all five ready for a first mission since everyone has got back together

"Man it is going to feel so good to be going on a real mission again!" Naruto chimed walking in the middle of sakura and sophia, kakashi and Min stand infront of the three listening to the blonde
"Listen, whatever mission we are given don't complain and just take it" Sakura ads in
"Dont worry about it. Those days are over"

Kakashi closed his eye, uncertain "I sure hope so"
"I bet he will" sophia grins, hoping someone will take the bait
Min keeps her head forward with a small smirk on her lips "I second soph. He is so going to refuse"

Naruto gasps at both girls "I would not!"
"Would too" sophia smiles
"Would not!"
"Would too!"
"Would not!"
"Would to-"
"Quick! Out of the way!" A girl races towards team kakashi. All five move just in time as the girl runs passed

"What was that?"
"Watch where you're going! Who do you think you are!" Naruto shouts out to the woman, now long gone

"Huh?! Escort duty on a caravan?! Come on!" Sophia couldn't hold the smirk back, naruto already finding a issue with their mission
"What, you got a problem with that?" Tsunade glares towards naruto with her head resting against a closed fist sitting on her desk
"Since you're asking, yes!" Naruto snaps back
"Lousy C rank mission, is below my dignity!"
The air grew thick, everyone had their eyes on naruto
Iruka sighs, already tired "naruto, your skills may have improved. But mentally you haven't matured at all" he lay a hand against his forehead, eyes closed

"Naruto. I've chosen an easier mission to start with, to break you in. You've been gone from us for a while"

"Well who says I want a easier mission!" Sakura grabs naruto swiftly into a headlock, presenting tsunade with a nervous smile "so sorry my lady! Let me talk to him im sure I can bring him around" naruto struggles under her hold trying to break free from sakura

Tsunade ignores them both "the details of your mission are here" tsunade pushes a piece of paper infront of team kakashi
"Right"

Naruto growled under his breathe "I miss the third hokage. That old man was smart, he knew what he was doing"
"Huh?!" Min took a step back, tsunades face filled narrowed in on the blonde boy
"What did you say?!"
The rest of the room shivered

Sakura shook the hardest "just shut up will ya!" With her arms around naruto she began to strangle naruto

Sophia pulled sakura off "alright enough! Can we act like a team for a second?"
Both girls glare at one another

The door slid open, the girl from before that ran past the team early rolled in calling to the hokage "lady hokage terrible news!"

"Now what is it?"

"Theres been an emergency dispatch from the sand!"

"Where is this dispatch?"
"I tried to decode it as fast as I could" the girl passed the paper to tsunade

She only read it for a second before muttering "what the?"

"No way" shizune gasps reading what is on the paper behind her
"What is it? What's happened?" Naruto nearly demands

"Its the kazekage, he's been imprisoned by the akatsuki"

The group gasped in sync
"We have been studying them. We know more about them then any other village, therfore the sand village has officially asked for our help"

Shizune jumps in "you can't possibly be serious about sending team kakashi on this mission!"
"This is urgent. And I don't have time to rally another squad. And besides we have someone here who's actually fought the akatsuki"
