"I need it please" The man looked at the woman who dragged along her three children, a teenager and two younger kids.
"It's $50. I'm not changing my price for you" he said as the woman held up a crumpled 20 dollar bill.
"Here you can take them! They have to be good for something" She said, shoving the teenager into the guy, making the young girl in her arms cry. The teenager looked towards their mother before putting her hand over the little girl's mouth, softly shushing her.
The man was afraid of what would happen if the woman took the girls home. He just held out the small vial containing three blue pills. The woman snatched them before walking off.Leaving her children.
"I'm not going to hurt you"
The older girl shook her head, She didn't trust the man.
"What about if I let you hold my phone"
"I want your gun" She pointed to the metal on his hip. He looked at the girl and removed the gun from his waistband. He knew that this was a bad idea but he was really adamant about getting these girls off the streets. He put the safety on knowing the girl probably didn't know how to use the gun and handed it to her.
"You have the gun, now follow me" he walked into the building with the girls following. The older girl followed with the gun now in her own waistband. The door was opened and they were led into a small room away from everyone.
"Where is Yara, get Yara for me please" the man told the woman standing at the door
He motioned for the girl to sit down. She moved the chair into the corner sitting both her sisters in it before standing in front of it.
A Woman then rushed into the room. "Whats going on?" she asked and the guy explained everything to her. She walked up to the girl and stopped when a gun was pointed at her.
"Easy, be easy, I'm not going to hurt you" She slowly walked forward with her hands up. The safety was on so she wasn't too worried.
"Are you Okay? Are you hurt? Hungry?" she asked the girl and she shook her head. She was confused when she heard another voice.
"I am" the voice was soft and quiet, it belonged to the middle child.
The older girl carried her sister while they followed the tall woman into what looked like a single floor house. They walked into the kitchen area. The woman motioned for them to sit at the table and so they did. The older girl placed her sister on the floor to stretch her arms a little. She turned around to see that the girl wasnt there. She walked into the kitchen to see her sisters rummaging through the womans pantry.
"Leigh-Anne! Sairah!" She watched as the girls froze where they were. She walked over to them, grabbing their hands and pulling them back to the table.
With a lot of fighting the woman had managed to fed the girls, bathe them and put them to bed.
This woman would go on to take care of them for the next 3 years until one day the police invaded the base .Almost everyone was arrested, including Leigh-Anne and Sairah's older sister. The girls hid in the bunker the woman told them about in case of an emergency. But when Sairah came to check she was snatched up and dragged away. The younger girl became worried when her sisters didn't come back. She just stayed in the bunker. About 2 days later two people entered the bunker. The girl ran to the corner of the room pulling up the floor boards grabbing the pistol. Pointing it at the figures. It was a man and a woman. The woman rushed up to the child taking the gun from her.
"Are you okay? Whats your name?" the girl watched the woman carefully as she looked over her body to check for injuries.
Leigh shook her head. Yara and Sian had taught her that the police were not good people and that she shouldn't talk to them
Because of the child being so sheltered she couldnt really identify if someone was a potential threat or not. But she definitely recognized the familiar uniform.Only thing she knew was how the ring worked. The ranks and stuff like that. She would help Yara with it. She pretty much ran the ring by herself with yara checking in twice a month she was sent out with the police and placed with an emergency foster family.
This was the start of Leigh-Anne's new Life.
[ I really liked this book and I'm fucking it up now. This is like Take 7. Here we go again.]
