Tabitha falls asleep while doing finances and Jughead tries to get her to the car without waking her up.

Jughead traced gentle circles into his girlfriend's back as she clung to his arm, dozing off to the ambient music filling the diner. It had been a long day. Tabitha had woken up at the crack of dawn, painstakingly clawing her way to the shower in order to get ready for work. A few hours later, Jughead arrived at the diner to begin his Saturday shift too. It had been almost ten hours since then and they'd both been working non-stop.

Tabitha had started falling asleep while sorting her finances, tucked into her favourite booth by the door. When he had noticed her exhaustion, Jughead slid across the vinyl seat, trying to coax her home, but she'd been adamant about wanting to get as much done as she could before leaving. So, he simply agreed, sitting next to her and waiting. Slowly but surely her eyes had drifted closed, and she curled into his side, drifting into oblivion.

Now, Jughead figured he could move her from the diner, but he had to be careful; even the slightest sound would inevitably startle her awake.

He carefully lifted Tabitha up from the booth, causing her to stir slightly and tighten her grip on his collar. Jughead smiled to himself, noticing how her hair had begun to come undone from its ponytail and her polyester uniform was losing its carefully ironed texture. He pulled her into bridal position, removing her golden scrunchie and wrapping it around his wrist. Tabitha's dark hair tumbled down her shoulders and over her boyfriend's arms as he bent down to pick up her handbag, slowly pushing the door open so as not to jingle the bell. Thankfully, the fleeting sound didn't disturb her, and she continued to snuggle into the warmth of his chest as the cool Autumn breeze blew around them. Pulling her car door open, Jughead tried to detach her hands from his shirt. To his amusement, he found her fingers intertwined around his jacket, holding stubbornly onto him. He slowly shrugged the blazer off threading in into her arms in the process. At this, she opened her eyes, blinking a few times before looking up at Jughead tiredly.

"W-where are we?" she whispered.

He kissed her on the forehead, running a hand over her shoulder.

"It's ok, Tabs. You can close your eyes and go back to sleep."

Her eyes fluttered shut, a tiny smile still playing across her face.

"I love you." Jughead said, before closing the door gently and making his way to the driver's seat.
