"The size of your success is measured by the strength of your desire; the size of your dream; and how you handle disappointment along the way."
~ Robert Kiyosaki
"I desire."
These two words mark the beginning of every dream. The moment you start to desire, the ignition starts. Like the engine of the car that hums to life when the key is turned, your dreams start the moment desire is sparked.
"A burning desire to be, and to do is the starting point from which the dreamer must take off. Dreams are not born of indifference, laziness, or lack of ambition."
~ Napoleon Hill
Every dream starts with a desire. It is the nagging, aching feeling that just won't go away. This kind of feeling is unwelcomed. Why? Because it calls you to come out of your comfort zone. It asks you to do something BIG. It disrupts your current life.
My book started with this kind of desire.
"I desire to write a book," my heart told me one day.
"No I cannot. I do not have the funds, the skill and the time to do it."
I tried to reason with the voice inside me. I made up a lot of excuses not to do it. Still, the voice persisted. "Yes, you can do it. You just have to start."
Perhaps you also have a desire. Do you desire to have a successful business? To prosper and be wealthy? To retire early? To devote your life fully to God?
Desire is a powerful thing. It can shape your life and your future.
For the past months, I looked at desire in a new perspective. I studied it, read about it and looked at the lives of people who are in touch with their desires. These people are dreamers. And this is what I strive to be.
I want to be a dreamer for God. I want to get in touch with my God-given dreams.
But I learned that it starts with desire; and the moment that you learn to embrace it, that's when everything changes.
