Grace's Adventure In The Nightmare Before Christmas

Chapter 5

It was 35 days till Christmas and everyone at Halloween Town is making Christmas

Grace finds Sally sewing Jack's Santa suit, so she went to her, making Sally a bit surprised

"Um hi, I'm Grace and I was wondering what do you mean Jack's Christmas is going to be on fire?" Grace said

"Well um, that night when I gave Jack the basket, I went to his fence, picked up a dead flower, then it turned into a Christmas tree but then it went on fire and I had the feeling that that's going to happen to us in Halloween Town" Sally explains

"What are we going to do?" Grace asked

"I don't know but I hope he'll figure it out himself that this is mistake" Sally said

Couple of days later, it was Christmas Eve and everyone got everything ready. Sally examining Jack in his newly-finished Santa suit while Grace checking the suit

"You don't look like yourself, Jack. Not at all" Sally said

"Isn't that wonderful? It couldn't be more wonderful!" Jack said

Grace holds up the clipboard sketch of him and said "but you're the Pumpkin King!"

"Not anymore!" Jack said and breaks it over his knee "I feel so much better now!"

Sally said as she pulls a loose thread from his cuff "Jack, I know you think something's missing, but..." then she accidentally catches his bone finger

"Ow" Jack lightly

"Sorry" Sally said

"You're right. Something is missing. But what? I've got the beard, the coat, the boots, the belt" Jack said

The trick or treaters came in and said "Jack, Jack! This time we bagged him!"

"This time we really did" Lock said

"He sure is big, Jack!" Barrel said

"And heavy!" Shock said

Santa bursting out the bag and said "let me out!

The Halloween people gasp in awe

"Sandy Claws... in person. What a pleasure to meet you" Jack said prepares to shake but then looks down when their hands touch "Wh - ! Why, you have hands! You don't have claws at all!"

"Where am I?" Santa dazed

"Surprised, aren't you. I knew you would be. You don't need to have another worry about Christmas this year. Consider this a vacation, Sandy. A reward. It's your turn to take it easy" Jack said

"B-But there must be some mistake!" Santa said

"See that he's comfortable... Just a second, fellas! Of course! That's what I'm missing!" Jack said as he takes Santa's hat

"B-But..." Santa said

"Thanks" Jack said

"Hang on - you just can't -" Santa said as he was back in the bag "hold on! Where are we going now?"

Then the trick or treaters took him away

"Ho, ho, ho! No..." Jack monotone "ho, ho, ho. Ho..."

"This is worse than I thought. Much worse. I know!" Sally said and leaves

"Sally, where are you going?" Grace asked

"I got an idea" Sally said "I'll be right back"

A while later, when Jack was on his way, Sally came back and she had a jug of frog juice, she pour it into the well and it made it foggy, when the mayor was giving Jack a speech and the fog came around

"Oh no, we can't take off in this, the reindeer can't see an inch in front of their noses" Jack said

Sally was relieved

"This fog's as thick as.. as" one vampire said

"Jellied brains" one creature said

"Thicker" the other vampire said

"There go all of my hopes" Jack said as he sat on his coffin "my precious plans, my glorious dreams"

"There goes Christmas" one kid said

Zero started barking and Jack said "no, Zero. Down, boy... My, what a brilliant nose you have. The better to light my way! You're the head of the team, Zero!"

Zero went in front of the reindeer skeletons and everyone cheered except for Sally and Grace

"We're off" Jack said, then he whipped the reindeer skeletons and they flew off

"Wait! Jack! No" Sally said

"JACK" Grace shouted

But it was too late, they flew off into the sky

"Goodbye Jack. My dearest Jack" Sally said when she walked away and Grace follows her "oh how I hope me premonition is wrong"

After she finished singing, Grace came to her, hugged her and Sally hugged her back
