Steve's POV
As the team were planning the 'safe" adventure to the Upside Down, I felt something touch me on the shoulder. I didn't care much about it and just listened to what they were talking about. The mission sounds tough and it doesn't sound so safe anymore, I felt bored right away. I faced Eddie and we stared at each other for 1 minute straight, but, Nancy called out to Eddie and he turned away.
"So you think it's safe to just ride your imaginary car to a place called War Zone?" I asked Eddie
"It's not exactly a car, Steve, but, it will do." He told me as he drew me close
Robin smirked as Nancy chuckled, Dustin and Max total party poopers got disgusted in a funny way, Lucas and Erica just sat there confused. I blushed a little and pushed him away.
"When will you stop with that flirting of yours?" Eddie chuckled
"Oh will I stop my flirting, big boy?" I almost fell to my feet as he said that
"Ew, I'm gonna vomit" Max said as she was pretending to gag
"Shut up you little nutcase" Max stopped gagging and I turned to Eddie "Let's get us a car"
*In the Upside Down, (10 minutes before Eddie's death)*
Dustin's POV
"Eddie!" I screamed as Eddie escaped from me
"Goodbye, Henderson" Eddie rode on the bicycle and was ready to fight
I ran as fast as I could even with my broken leg. I can't just leave Eddie, he was a good father to me. And most importantly, Steve. He was the one that made Eddie feel appreciated and loved, Eddie loves HIM.
"What about Steve!? You're just gonna leave him like that!?" Eddie stopped slowly
"But, he's not here, is he?" I gasped
"Eddie..." Eddie started to go farther away like something dangerous was coming
Eddie's POV
I went farther to get to the bats and I knew that was it. This is the end of my dear life. I tried to stop tearing up, but, Steve and Dustin was on my mind and if I die, who'll take care of them? I took that thought of my mind and got my sword and shield made out of a trash bin.
"This is for you, Steve and Dustin" I said as I was ready to fight for my life
I was fighting the bats and one of them started to choke me and 4 more bats bit me on my arms and legs and it was painful, really. I let out a loud scream and my scream echoed everywhere.
Steve's POV
I heard a loud scream, it sounded like Eddie. I already told them not to act like heroes and leave it to us and Eddie didn't listen. I rushed to Nancy and Robin asking them that I needed to check on Dustin and Eddie. Nancy and Robin looked worried so they agreed. I reached Dustin.
"Where's Eddie, Henderson!? Where is he!?" I screamed as Dustin pointed out to the basketball gym
"Go, Steve! He's already sacrificing himself!" Dustin started crying and I ran to the gym
There was Eddie... lying on the floor all covered in blood. Dustin came right after me and started crying harder. I started to sob and ran towards him. Eddie looked at me then to Dustin
"What are you doing here, big boy?" He asked as I cried and cried
"I told you not to be a hero! And yet, you still sacrificed yourself!?" Eddie smiled
"That's just called love, Stevie... I want you to keep Dustin and yourself safe, K?" Dustin opened his mouth
"NO! We'll bring you to a hospital!" Eddie looked away
"No, it's worthless... They think I'm a murderer- They would want me dead anyways" Dustin shook his head
"Eddie, I'm begging you just stay a little bit longer! We'll get you to a hospital where no one knows you... Just don't give up now..." I said as I hugged Eddie
"Promise me this, Harrington. You'll remember me as your hero, k? Will you do that for me?" He asked
"Yes... You'll always be my hero! And I promise, we'll meet again..." I kissed Eddie as he said his last words
"Dustin, Steve, I'll always love you..." And then, Eddie died...
