A harsh, white, pristine light burned my eyes through my closed eyelids. And I thought death was supposed to be peaceful. A few murmurs from people around me echoed in my blessedly empty mind. I forced my eyes open at  the same time that the murmurs became clearer.

"I don't understand. Her monitor showed a blank line! No pulse! And yet as soon as we get to the building, theres a flash of light, and she's back!" relayed a panicky voice to another, deep, masculine voice.

"Hmm. Well I always wondered if the gods didn't listen and interfered. But this has never happened before. And what about her hair?"

I grasped a strand of my much-longer hair. Shock nearly threw me off the table. My once-auburn hair was now a silvery-pink! Wait, just like the...oh my god, I'm not dead. But then, did mom save me? My hair was the color of the flower that killed me, I was alive, and I was determined to go home.

With a few minutes of hushed whispering, I took that time to stand up and sneak towards the door.

"Miss Fields, I would suggest that you not do that," said the masucline voice. I turned around to find a large, brown haired man in a labcoat staring at me. But before I could even get a word in, the door burst open on its own. Marckus ran in, laid eyes on me, and I was pretty sure he was about to faint.

"Ohmygosh Clover...Is that you?" He asked, looking very very surprised. I nodded, and then coughed twice, and he flailed about, finding a cup and filling it with some sort of juice. I drank some, and finally spoke.

"Yup! Same ole' me! Well, not insane, I hope," I said, giving him a huge grin. He relaxed, and hugged me tightly.

"Doc, thanks for all your help, but I think this young girl should spend her birthday with her brothers, at home," Markus said to the dumbfounded doctor and his assistent.

I was led out into a long hallway, and through a few doors until we reached a very similar room to the one I was in the first time I met Markus. I finally dropped the "a-okay!" act, and burst into tears.

Markus stood there awkwardly as I bawled into my hands, crumpled on the floor.

"Nugget..." I sobbed. Marckus jumped up, and ran out the door. He then returned, a large crate in tow. He opened the door, and a small black kitten ran out and rubbed up against my knee. I sniffed, and scooped up Nugget into my arms.

"How...?" I asked, wiping away tears and cuddling the mewling kitten.

"Sponsor gift. But you had left before anything could've happened."

I stood up, and walked over to him, and took the outfit he had put together as I was crying. It was a light pink 3/4 sleeved top with dark jeggings and a pair of silver converse.

I walked into the bathroom, and slipped into the perfectly fitting outfit. I had eaten well in the arena, from the sponsor gift swarm. I looked in the mirror, and decided that the silvery-pink hair suited me. My eyes were still a green color, but the two surprising looked good together; the silver and green.

I walked back out, and Marckus was gone. Instead, a random person escorted me out into a car, and we drove the 2 hour trip to my house. The windows were closed to the ground house (only the bedrooms were in trees), and I could tell that they were in mourning. There was a heap of flowers on the front porch, left by my supporters, and a few cards taped on the door. I got out of the car, and thanked the silent driver. He nodded, wished me a happy birthday, and drove off.

I walked up the comforting stone path, Nugget in hand, locket resting on my chest, and note from my brothers in my pocket. I knocked on the door, and a "Go Away!" answered from inside.

"I don't think you'd throw your own sister out, would you?" I retorted. The door was flung open, and Nico and Miles stood there in awe at their little sister that they watched die, that was now standing, very much so alive, on their front porch.

I was attacked by hugs, and I walked inside, into my house, up into my room, hugged Elsie, and thanked Demeter for the gift of life.

I laid down on my bed, and fell asleep thinking of nothing but the very impossiblility that was me.
