All I could think about was Kenny. He was the closest thing I had to family here in the arena. But another thing nagged in the back of my mind. What if the final match came down to Allia and I? I let these thought sink in, and I found a concrete wall in no time. A biome barrier? I quickly found the scanner, and placed my hand on the outline. "Tribute Recognized," said the tinny voice, and I walked through. I quickly increased my pace, and heard a familiar voice say, "You may re-enter the Arctic Sector in one hour," and I stopped and took in my surroundings. I was in a forest, thank the gods. And then I heard the tinny voice say, "You may re-enter the Arctic Sector in one hour." Wait, if it just said that, who said it the first time?

As if on cue, a tall, dark skinned boy stepped out in front of me. I quickly readied my spear to strike, but he dropped his weapon in the grass in front of him.

"Allies?" he said. Oh my gods, if it was him, I was either so lucky or so dead.

"Deal," I said, and saw the recognition spark in his eyes.

"Cas?" I said hesitantly. "Clove?" he said.

I looked at him, and gave him a hug. After all, he was my old boyfriend.

We stopped after Casper began to complain about his ankle, and I found it swollen. I gave him some ambrosia and we decided to sleep here tonight. I quickly found myself a tree, and wove some of it's branches together to create a hammock like shape. I quickly fell asleep.

"Clover? Clover, wake up."

The calm voice woke me up. A woman dressed in a green gown with a wreath of wheat on her long auburn hair sat on a branch next to me, stroking my head.

"Clover? Oh good. Honey, I have to warn you. About Casper. He isn't the boy he used to be. I can't tell you why, but I can tell you this. He will betray you. You need to be on your guard."

"Mom?" I asked.

"Honey you need to watch out for him. I must go. The gods are not supposed to be interfering with the games in the first place," She said. "Now, sleep."

I quickly fell into a dreamless state.

The sun shone into my eyes, waking me up, and I smelled cooking eggs. I climbed out of my tree to find Casper sitting by a fire, cooking eggs in a small skillet.

"Good morning sunshine!' he said.

I quietly sat next to him, and looked at his happy smile and eyes. He didn't seem like the type of guy to try and kill me.

By mid day, the two of us were done with this heat. It was hotter than the desert in the forest. I looked over at Casper, but he was looking dead ahead. It turns out his sister was killed in the bloodbath, so he wanted to kill all the other tributes. I wondered if that included me.

By the time night fell, we were pretty hungry. I quickly grew us some food, and we ate, then we parted for bed. I lay awake, waiting for him to make his move, and kill me, but he didn't. I finally decided I should sleep, when I heard footsteps down below me. I hopped down, and whipped out my spear to find Casper dead, and the traitor running away.

"NO!" I yelled, and threw my spear at the murderer of my friend. It hit him in the head, and I heard the sickening crunch as it killed him. I ran over, picked up my spear, and took off, my bag swinging against my side.

Sorry to kill the romance (literally haha), but I had to! Casper just couldn't stay, and I really just didn't like where the chappie was going. (btw chappie means chapter).

Sorry to all you who wanted more love in this. NEVER AGAIN!
