18. Kidney Stir Fry?

"FUCK!"

Well that was definitely a pleasant way to wake up.

Not really, but there wasn't anything I could do about it.

Actually, scratch that, there was something I could do. I could punch them.

I sat up in my bed, stretching my arms above my head. I glanced at the clock. 7:58 am, way to early to be waking up on a free day.

I got out of bed, grabbing a pocket knife and pulling my hoodie over my head before I went downstairs, not even bothering to change out of my pajamas.

"Who the fuck- oh hey Jack," I said as I got into the kitchen. Jack was standing in front of the stove holding his hand.

"Morning Toby, what's up?" He asked, dropping his hand and grabbing a plate out of one of the cabinets.

"Not much," I said, going to the fridge and getting some juice out. Can't ever go wrong with some apple juice, right?

"How 'bout you?" I asked him, pouring myself a cup of juice before returning it to the fridge. I turned to look at him as I sipped it, slightly tilting my head to avoid having the liquid fall out of the stupid hole in my face.

"Trying to make breakfast. Apparently I'm pretty bad at cooking. I guess being good at cooking instant ramen in the microwave isn't the same thing as actually cooking," Jack sighed. He grabbed a spatula and shoveled some of the food from the frying pan onto the plate. It looked like some sort of stir fry.

"Mind if I have some?"

"No, but I wouldn't recommend it," Jack laughed, "I used kidneys instead of chicken."

"Oh yeah, you can keep it, don't worry," I said, putting my now empty juice glass in the sink. "So were you the one who yelled fuck at eight in the morning?"

He looked down and nodded. I could practically feel the guilt radiating off of him.

"Well, I'm sorry to inform you, but I must punch you now," I smiled at him, "But I'm feeling nice so I'll let you finish your kidney stir fry first."

"Wait, can I make it up to you? So you don't punch me?" He asked quickly, tilting his head.

I thought for a minute before finally agreeing, "I'm probably going to go outside for a while, come find me when you're done eating." I waited for Jack to agree before walking off. It was probably really cold outside, and pajama pants and a hoodie probably wasn't warm enough clothes for this weather. I would just have to make sure I don't stay out for too long.

I shoved my hands in the front pocket of my hoodie before going out onto the front porch. Most of the leaves had fallen off the trees already. The ground was covered in the brown leaves. I ended up just sitting on the steps of the porch, deciding against wandering around. I wasn't really in the mood for a walk anyways.

It was about 20 minutes until Jack came out. He went to walk down the porch stairs before seeming to figure out I was sitting on them. Jack sat down next to me, 'staring' at the forest in front of us.

"Next time I'm about to walk right past you and wander into the forest, maybe say something," He joked.

"But it would have been funny to watch you try and look for me," I teased.

"Mhm, sure it would."

We sat in a comfortable silence for a while. It was really nice just to sit here with Jack and not have to worry about anything else. I wish we got to do this more often.

"So, figure out something to make up for waking me up at eight on a free day?" I asked him in a lighthearted manner.

"Yeah I might of thought of something," He replied, a smirk obvious in his voice.

"Yeah? And what's that?"

And before I could even process what was happening, Jack lifted his mask up slightly and quickly pressed his lips against mine.

Just as quickly as it happened, it was over and Jack was pulling his mask back down.

I just sat there, shocked.

"I hope that makes it up," Jack said, standing up. "Maybe you should try taking me out on another date. Our last one didn't work out the best, did it?"

Then, Jack was walking away, leaving me frozen on the porch steps.

What the actual fuck just happened?

I'm bored and I have a shit ton of free time so I'm gonna try and write as many chapters as I can right now- I might even finish today-

I have another story that I've started a bit on so once I'm done with this I'll start uploading those chapters- It's an EJxHoodie one (because there are like 3 of them on this platform) and it's an SCP au type of thing- super excited for that
