#2 Cockroaches have two brains?!

Many people are known to be scared and suffer katsaridaphobia (being scared of cockroaches). Cockroaches aren't very popular insects that many people love and adore like they would for dogs, bunnies and even cats. They are insects that have wings to fly and can grow up to 53mm long! Cockroaches are omnivorous meaning they eat both plants and animals. They mostly like feasting on starches, sweets and greasy foods yet they are not picky eaters. They'll eat anything that is derived from something that was once a living organism such as plants and animals. But did you know that not all cockroaches fly? Some are poor fliers or don't fly at all! Most will learn how to lean primarily on their legs, while others use their wings to glide high locations, to lower ones. Cockroaches mate by breeding. Attracted males will approach the female and flap their wings to denote interest. It is quite simple actually because it is most likely the female will want to mate will the male that's trying to mate will the female cockroach. But I bet you didn't know that they only live for about twenty to thirty weeks only! Short life but for them, lasting 30 weeks is considered old! As interesting as they may seem, did you know that cockroaches have two brains? They have the typical brain in their head and a smaller brain in their abdomen. Why two brains though? Why not just one? The 'second brain' can give enough commands and direction that a roach can continue its day without the main brain. Starvation is also the only thing that can slow down a roach without its head. Its 'so-called' second brain can guide it and support it in every function. Even though their two brains may come in handy they only have 1000 brain cells. That is nothing compared to the human brain cells while we have 86 billion.

Imagine having two brains to function with everyday. Would life be easier for you? What do you think?
