#5 Polar bears actually have black skin?!
Polar bears are cute animals that live on the Antarctic on ice waters. These adorable mammals have a stocky, relatively small head, short rounded ears and a short tail. Female Polar bears can weigh up to 150kg to 250kg while the male weighs up to 450kg. How do these large mammals mate? Males will often seek out females by following their scent. Except it's not all that easy. Two males may fight over a female, but the female will choose whoever she feels like it to mate with. But what I bet you didn't know is that Polar bears couples are only together for about a week before they separate. The male may then seek out another mate (a behaviour known as polygyny meaning they can mate with more than one person). But why do they leave after only a week? The reason for this is quite disturbing. The male polar bear leaves his beloved mate after only a week because of the risk he will kill and eat the cubs. Although that is highly disturbing, according to many researches, the reason for this behaviour is the shortage of food supply in an already delicate habit! So most of the time instead of the Male Polar bears mating, they target female polar bears with cubs and start attacking. As loveable as they may seem, don't be fooled by their looks. They may look cute, cuddly and even friendly but they are expert hunters and are ferocious with it. If they can eat their cubs, they might as well eat you if you don't give them the right attitude.
Would you like to live as a polar bear?
Considering you might eat your cubs, you can stay warm with the black skin you have under all that white fur!
