JULIET'S POV:

"C'mon Jules, pleeeeeeaaaaasssee," my friend Sarah was practically begging me.

I adjusted my cell phone in my hand and replied to her in a time sounding much ruder than I intended, "Why would I go to a concert for someone I don't even know who is? It's just a waste."

"Because I won these tickets and your my best friend so of course I would take you! Plus I have no one else to go with, plus I went to the Foo Fighters concert with you last month!"

"Okay Sarah shut up, you love the Foo Fighters!"

She giggled,"I know but I needed to make a point. Please come! Even if you hate it, I'll buy your lunch. No loss there, right? And I know you'll like this music I'm obsessed with him!"

I sighed in defeat, "Oh alright, I guess I had nothing else really planned for tonight. Except I have to be back by nine, I'm watching Mandee's kids." I could hear her squeal on the other we of the phone,

"Yay! This will be so fun! Ill pick you up at noon!" I looked at my watch, realized I only had an hour and a half.

"Fine. See you then. Bye now." I hung up and set my phone on the counter, just as it begs to ring again. It was probably Sarah, forgetting to tell me some meaningless detail, that I could've lived without. I looked at the screen, pleasantly surprised to see it was Ed, the guy I had met the other night.

"Hello?" I asked, it sounding more like a question.

"Juliet? Hey love, it's Ed." We had been calling and texting eachother over the part few days, getting acquainted, and we got along really well.

"Hey Ed! How are you doing in this nice morning?" I joked.

"Great and how're you?"he asked politely.

"Peachy. Just peachy."

Ed chuckled and said," Good I'm glad to hear it. What you up to today?"

I groaned, "Well my friend is taking me to some concert, but I haven't got a clue who I guy is, I've never heard of him."

"Well that sounds better than me! I've got work."

"Aww work on a Saturday? Im sorry."

He chuckled,"Nah it's not that bad, I like work."

"I'm glad. A job you like is often hard to find. Hey Ed?"

"Yeah?"

"Erm, I have to go and get ready, because my friend will be here in less than an hour, but I'll call you later, yeah?"

"Sounds great Juliet. Talk to you then." With that, he hung up and I set my phone back down on the counter. I went into my closet in search of a cute outfit, but casual enough, as I wasn't quite sure what this gig would be like. I finally decided on a pair or brown leather oxfords, high waisted skinny jeans, and a plain white cotton t-shirt tucked in with a bronze necklace. It was simple, yet appropriately cute I thought, and it was incredibly me. I let my hair fall down into its usually straight self and went about applying my makeup. I went with some mascara, a soft brown eyeliner to make my green eyes pop, some concealer to covert my blemishes that still hadn't seemed to disappear like puberty had, and a clear lip balm. It was simple and natural, just the way I like it.

At twelve sharp, Sarah pulled into my driveway and honked the horn on her car. We must've been in a hurry, because she usually would walk in and help herself to whatever was in the fridge. Sarah practical lived at my house, but she payed for another apartment of her own.

I quickly grabbed my phone and purse, and headed out to her car. I opened the car door to hear Sarah blasting some sort of folky music, but I liked it a lot.

I gave her a questioning look and she smiled, "This is his music." I made and 'O' shape with my mouth and quickly slid into the passenger seat. This concert seemed like it would be fun. Sarah was dressed similar to me, jeans, but converse instead of oxfords, and a brown cardigan. She had her hair up in a topknot, that she seemed to always pull off even though I always looked like an idiot when I made the attempt.

We quickly arrived at the concert venue, a local restaurant that often held open-mic nights. We hopped out of the car and headed inside, Sarah showing off our passes to the man at the door.

Inside were quite a few people, a lot more than I expected for someone I'd never heard of. There was a chair and a microphone set up at the front of the room, with tables surrounding it. Most places were already filled, but Sarah spotted a small table for us, right on the side of the makeshift 'stage' where people seemed to be avoiding. I guessed most people thought this area was off limits, but if turned out we were in the clear.

Soon more people started to file in, and we placed our orders of food with the waitress. I ordered a club sandwich and Caesar salad, as did Sarah. I didn't order the salad to eat healthy or look skinny or whatever, I just honestly enjoyed salads, no matter where I went, I would almost always order this exact same meal.

The restaurant was a pretty laid back place most the people either indie music loving people, couple my age, our pubescent teenage girls. I was looking around the place, just taking everything in, when I saw someone I least expected to see here. Ed. My new friend I met the other night. But he said he was going to work today. Maybe he worked at the restaurant or for the radio station holding the concert. I grinned at him, waving him over, but he made eye contact with me and a look of panic formed on his face. Did I offend him in some way? He was sort of in the corner behind and open door, but then I noticed he was holding a guitar. Oh well, most people owned guitars. Soon other people noticed him too and he started to walk to the center of the room. People were screaming and cheering.

The entire time Ed kept his eyes on me, and I give him a look of confusion and panic. And then came the realization. Ed didn't work here. Everyone here worked for him. I was at his concert. And he was famous..
