Louis was definitely confused when he woke up. He was on his bed, but he didn't know how he got there, the last thing he remembered was... damn Harry must have carried him home. Louis glanced at the clock noting that it was only five o'clock.

He swung his feet out of bed and winced in pain before falling back onto his bed, he rolled his eyes, quickly changing out of his footie kit- not bothering to even try to find a shirt (they were all the way across the room) and limped down the corridor using the close walls to support himself.

He sat at the top of the stairs and almost laughed in disbelief when he slid down the stairs- he slowed when he reached the bottom of the staircase stopping completely about three steps from the floor.

He heard a familiar deep laugh and looked up to meet a set of forest-green eyes that he had grown to like. "Stair sliding- simple but effective" Louis shook his head and accepted the hand of help that had been extended to him, instead of the support he was expecting he squealed when Harry hooked his left arm around Louis' shoulders and hooked his right under Louis' knees picking him up bridal style.

Out of fear Louis wrapped his arms around Harry's neck immediately and buried his head in Harry's shoulder getting tickled by the curls there.

He couldn't see the blush on Harry's face (the younger had expected him to have a shirt on and although having seen Louis without a shirt before is now having a major crisis) He heard a deep rumble in Harry's chest that turned into a laugh as the taller boy carried him through to the living room. The laugh earned him a playful slap to the shoulder.

Harry carefully put Louis down on one of the couches- Louis still holding onto his neck. The two were ridiculously close, a rosy pink spread across Harry's face as he noticed just how close Louis was, neither looked away completely frozen. Blue met green both eyes full of so many questions and so much wonder.

Harry placed a hand on Louis' shoulder to stop himself from falling forwards- slightly breaking the trance the pair had fallen under, Louis glanced to it catching sight of the ring that Harry had stolen weeks earlier. His heart fluttered at the idea Harry was wearing one of his rings and although it was his favourite and he'd thought he had lost it, seeing it around Harry's pinky finger didn't make him mad in the slightest.

Harry glanced down at where Louis' eyes were directed and subconsciously moved his pinky finger, unintentionally scraping the cold metal over Louis' skin making him shiver slightly and his heartbeat significantly pick up.

Louis blushed harder and let go of Harry's neck causing the boy to topple forward without the support, he landed full on top of Louis, but the older boy just smiled and wrapped his arms around the taller boy as Harry snuggled into his chest both relaxing into the other's grip not sure what to do or say.

Louis smiled looking down at the taller boy and running his hands through Harry's curls as the younger sighed contentedly. The pair just lay there no words exchanged, just cuddling for who knows how long. Both were happy, they didn't need words to confirm that, and neither was getting bored of the feeling of security.

Louis came out of the daze when he felt a tear drip onto his collarbone, he looked at the younger boy to find silent tears running down his face. He sat up slightly pulling Harry face to face with him both sitting crisscross. Harry was refusing to look up keeping his gaze on his now entwined fingers twisting the small rose ring around his finger.

The older boy reached a hand forward and tucked a loose curl behind Harry's ear, causing the younger boy to meet Louis' concerned eyes. "Hey, Hazza what's wrong?"  Harry stayed silent but let the older boy wipe the slowed tears from under his eyes and tilt his chin up to meet the concerned blue eyes Infront of him.

"What is it? you don't have to tell me but I'm here ok?"  Harry nodded slowly and gulped a few times "it's just-" Louis nodded encouraging him to go on, "It's just ever since I lost my hearing, I've never felt safe" The younger boy paused to check Louis was still listening- he was. He was leaning forward watching the younger's hands intently.

"I never really felt safe, having your hearing for sixteen years and then it's gone just like that is so hard, you don't realise how much you depend on it until it's gone. It's such a big part of your life - I mean you feel safe crossing roads, walking alone at night just sitting in public but it would be so easy for someone just to, I dont even know sorry, you probably don't want to hear this, I'm rambling, sorry"

Louis wrapped him in a hug holding him tightly for a while before letting go "Harry, if you want to tell me, I'm here to listen, ok? always."  The younger boy nodded smiling slightly at the shorter boy in front of him.  "Thanks Lou"

"It's quite a long story" Louis smiled "well I don't have any other plans other than to listen to you curly" Harry gave the other boy a somewhat watery smile and blushed slightly at the nickname that had been used. It seemed to lighten the very glum mood and suddenly the room seemed just that little bit brighter, or maybe that was Louis, the younger couldn't tell, but Louis made him feel safe.
