Forever my quarterback/Finn Hudson

Ready

"Everyone get your asses on the bus, we're gonna be late!" Shue yelled from the lobby as we all ran, we had woken up 30 minutes late so we were all rushing to get ready. of course everyone ended up looking stunning, we were 100% going to do great.

"Hey, sweet girl," I looked up and saw Burt walking over to me. I hugged him tightly, "Where's Kurt? He texted me about an hour ago," Kurt still was feeling pretty horrible.

"He's already on the bus with Blaine, you're riding with us so come on,"

BURT'S POV:

I walked onto the bus and saw Blaine holding Kurt in one of the seats. Kurt was shaking as looking off into space, Blaine was talking to him but I don't think Kurt was really listening. I walked over to my son, I could see the exact moment he realized I was there. His eyes filled with tears and he reached out for him.

"Hi, buddy. Come here," I sat down in the seat across from them, Kurt quickly came over and curled up onto my lap. He was trying so hard to not cry, fighting back sobs. "I know, baby. It's okay, you're okay," I knew Kurt was having a really hard time with the chances in his life right now, his doctors were comforting but there's only so much they can do. Surgery was scheduled for three weeks from today, give him time to get to get down with school.

"I feel so sick," he had his arms wrapped around my waist trying frantically to pull me closer. "Want my mom," I almost didn't hear him when he said that, my heart broke instantly.

"I know, scooter. I miss her too," I leaned back in the seat, letting him curl up even closer. He started coughing, I ran my hand up and and down his back.

"Mr. Hummel," I looked over and saw Blaine handing me a plastic bag. I smiled at him thankfully, Kurt sat up with his hand over his mouth.

"Okay, I've got you," I held the bag under his chin, "take a deep breath, Kurt. You're alright," I whispered, Blaine quickly jumped in front of Kurt so he could hold the bag. I rubbed Kurt's back as he tried his hardest not to be sick.

Kurt coughed and gagged, I held his small body up when he physically could not anymore. Kurt threw up for a little while before he finally caught a break, somewhere in between the bus had started moving. I was a little concerned about him feeling even more sick because of being on the bus.

"Here sweet boy, take a sip," Blaine held a bottle of water up to Kurt's lips, Kurt took a small sip before throwing it right back up. "Oh okay," Blaine got the bug up to Kurt's lips in time. I could tell Kurt was starting to feel dizzy so I gently laid his head on my shoulder.

"Take some deep breaths, Buddy," my biggest concern right now was Kurt fainting and not being able to go on. I knew how bad that would make him feel, he's worked his ass off for this moment and I really didn't want his cancer to be the reason he can't. Kurt closed his eyes, I could see him swaying slightly. "You're alright, my boy,"

"Guy's we're getting ready to pull up. So, here's the plan, we're gonna get in there and change into our nice clothes. Then we'll find our way backstage and wait for our turn to go on. We're number one to go on so be quick, good luck kids,"

CPOV:

After everyone frantically got ready, we finally got to the stage.

"Lets fucking do this thing man," Sam and Finn fist bumped, Kurt was laying down on the little couch backstage while Blaine stroked his hair softly. We were starting to worry he was going to end up in the hospital, he's so sick right now and we're all pretty worried.

"Up next... New directions!!" That was our cue, my final cue as a new direction. This is it, all or nothing.

Goodnight my angel, time to close your eyes
And save these questions for another day, Finn walked out onto the stage first singing. I took a deep breath, looking over at Kurt one more time. He was smiling and leaning on Blaine.

I think I know what you've been asking me
I think you know what I've been trying to say, I walked out next. I walked to my spot on the stage as I sang. I could see Shue standing in the back of the room, just watching us.

I promised I would never leave you
Then you should always know, Blaine walked out, holding Kurt's hand. Shue had said it was okay for Kurt to stay next to Blaine at all times in case something happens.

Wherever you may go, no matter where you are
I never will be far away, Kurt took his turn singing as Blaine wrapped his arm around him and kissed his head. Blaine spun Kurt around, holding him a little tighter since he got dizzy

Goodnight my angel, now it's time to sleep
And still so many things I want to say, Finn came over and spun me around. We sang together and slowly, he put his hand on my waist and we slow danced. Part of my wanted to kiss him right there, under these lights.

Remember all the songs you sang for me
When we went sailing on an emerald bay, I sang to Finn, yes I sang to Finn not at Finn. I could see in his eyes he wasn't just looking at me to know what to sing next, it was like he couldn't take his eyes off me. 

 
And like a boat out on the ocean
I'm rocking you to sleep, Kurt sang softly to Blaine. Blaine kissed his head and pulled him closer to the front. Kurt's face was still pale and his eyes seemed far away. Blaine saw it too and made sure Kurt couldn't fall to the ground if he fainted. 

The water's dark and deep, inside this ancient heart
You'll always be a part of me, Finn took my hand and spun me around like I was the whole wide world. Like I was the sun and the whole universe was revolving around me. 

Someday your child may cry, and if you sing this lullaby
Then in your heart there will always be a part of me, Finn smiled at me and hugged me tightly. Kurt and Blaine laughed, everyone else came out with their partner. 

We sang the rest of our set-list before bowing and running off stage. I laughed to myself, my last time performing with these guys. I think it was just now hitting me just how soon this is all coming to an end.
