Demarius and his men were building the barricades across the outposts in the mountains! They pushed hard against the slopes to erect the structures. Arakanese was in the middle helping them with the barricades. When Demarius told him to step aside and that their men will complete the ordeal. Arakanese simply responded " When they attack , they attack all of us". Demarius let Arakanese be, and did not bother him with any more suggestions thereafter. Archimedes stood there watching the outposts being completed. " We need to have the most skilled marksman standing in these outposts" he said to Borgur. Yes, the most skilled of our men will stand here and the others will stand atop of the house of Arakur. Archimedes nodded in agreement. We should have about hundred horses and we will stand behind the barricades where the wolves , Demarius and the rest of the warriors stand. Yes, yes, The strongman stand there along the barricades, said Borgur. Some of them have become skilled enough to stand atop as marksman too, said Archimedes pointing at the outposts. Here Mordin will lead them, said Borgur. Yes, said Archimedes but Borgur could sense the reluctance in his voice. Archimedes looked over at Arakanese and then he said to Borgur. Me and Arakanese will lead the men in the horses! Borgur was indeed very happy with the suggestion. I stand with Arakur , me and the other great warriors of our lineage! said Borgur. There was some noise that came from elsewhere. It was the sound of the crafts cranking.
" They are fixing some kind of ammunition to the crafts," said Borgur. Those crafts should be able to take care of the dragon, said Borgur. That remains to be seen on the battlefield, said Archimedes. Let us be optimistic, said Borgur. The last thing you do in a war is to be optimistic, Senior Borgur, said Archimedes. Kingdoms and men do not fall because they are weak, nor because they are surrounded by enemies from all corners. They lose wars because they are optimistic! he said and there stood Borgur learning lessons from a much younger man. And he did not mind it al all, as he knew that Archimedes was indeed blessed with the knowledge of war. Senior Borgur, said Archimedes "Our eyes can show fear, but our swords must not". Borgur looked at Arakanese and he saw the humbleness in his eyes. He looked at his hand and it did not shake nor tremble, there was a firmness to it. It stood there like a Rock! That hand shall lead many a men! Uttered Borgur.
Elsewhere....
The Brok was growing up at a rapid pace. He was growing taller and adding muscle by the day. One fine day, the Brok flew a few hundred meters above and the Dragon breathed fire. INt he dungeons, the dragon breathed a fire burning everything in its vicinity. A guard who stood close by was burnt to smithereens and another guard barely escaped. The Brok flies, said one of the Counselman to the King. That is good news to hear, said the king. But he was wary too of the outcome of his flight. " As another Brok takes flight, the enemies who rested will sharpen their swords' and eyes". The Brok has to be kept at a safe place Philippe, said the king! Yes, agreed Philippe. We cannot have the Brok live in the kingdom as the forests of the Harakans will die out. Without a Brok, the end of the Harakkans will begin, said Philippe. What else can be done? asked Darticus. We can station some of our best men to keep guard around the Brok, suggested Philippe. Darticus nodded in agreement, that is the best we can offer in times such as this , he said to his lead counsel. THen Darticus tood there as he had a idea that seemed ideal to him. Why don't you stand alongside the Brok in these tough times Philippe, he asked him?. Me? asked Philippe. Go elsewhere from the kingdom when we are in the verge of a war? he asked the King. Yes, that would be of great help to the Harakkans, said Darticus. When Mordin decides to pay a visit and he surely will, who else but you can defeat him and save the Brok from being killed? he asked. Alguran could go? Could he not? asked Philippe. He could not save the Brok last time, Philippe, could he ? asked the king. Philippe nodded and was on the verge of traveling towards the village of the Harakans. And Philippe, said Darticus. I have this feeling that the battle would eventually come down to me and Archimedes. We are going to have the last say, said Darticus. That was always going to be the case, said Philippe. The only thing worries all of us is ,if he really is the warrior they say he is! said Philippe. He is the warrior they say he is! and he walked away from Philippe. And so am I ! he said.
Hana walked towards Darticus. "There you are" she said to him. It is time for us to have lunch. In a minute dear! he said to her and walked towards his office chamber. Do we really have to go to war my king? she asked him. Your father does not leave us any other choice dear! he said to her. Does in not trouble you that he is acting in such a way, my father, asked Hana. It does trouble me Hana, and that is why we prepare for battle, replied Darticus. No, not in that way. Doe sit not trouble you that he would do such a thing. That he would act in such a way! she asked him. That is something that you need to ask him dear, said Darticus and shut the door behind as he walked into his office. Hana stood there, baffled by her fathers decision and the unwavering loyalty that she had towards her husband." If I sharpen my sword, then it shall be so. I shall not fight with a Marakese, but against them"!
