{◇~3rd person POV:~◇}
When Thomas woke up the next morning he heard Gordon complaining about the weather, Thomas didn't think the fog was that bad although he could only see a few yards out ahead of him it was still enough to get his work done. "This fog will only cause delays!" Gordon huffed, "you're just scared because Thomas' story has gotten to your smokebox!" James called back. Gordon scoffed, "I don't get scared by little tank engine stories!" He said, "yea? Well if you're not scared then why don't you go and, oh I don't know, do your job." Henry said, glancing at Gordon through squinted eyes.
"I would but the fog is too thick to be going at high speeds!" Gordon excused. "Then pull the express slowly." Percy said, "the express doesn't go slow! It goes fast or not at all!" Gordon huffed again. "Preposterous...silly little tank engines." Gordon grumbled to himself. "Well, I'd love to stay and chat but some of us have work to do." Edward said before making his way to the turntable. Once Edward had left Thomas made his escape as well, he didn't want to spend the morning listening to all the arguing. He gathered Annie and Clarabel and hurried out to his branchline and started off down the line.
《Time Skip》
By noon the fog had only gotten worse, all the forecasts spoke about a storm on the way. Thomas huffed, "oh bother," he muttered "this storm will cause damage and might even down some trees and block the tracks!" He ranted. Thomas slowed to a stop, Gordon was stopped at the platform across the tracks from him talking to James. "If you're really not scared you wouldn't be hurrying to get back to your shed!" James said smugly. James looked over at Thomas and smiled wider, "ah Thomas, just the engine I was hoping to see! Where did you say that story of yours took place?" James asked. "The stories about an engine being scrapped at the smelters, where do you think it happened?" Gordon asked sarcasticly.
"Oh well I'm sorry for fact checking!" James retorted, scrunching up his face as he spoke. Thomas raised a brow, "why do you want to know?" He asked. "Well, if you must know, I dared Gordon to go looking for the ghost you talked about!" James smirked, seemingly proud of himself. Thomas felt the colour drain from his face, he was so surprised and worried it might have drained from his paintwork as well. "O-oh...alright." Thomas said, looking away. "Something wrong Thomas?" Gordon asked. "N-no! Of course not! I have to go talk to Edward, bye!" Thomas said before hurrying off. He was lucky he'd gotten a break from his branchline, now he just had to find Edward.
Thomas check Brendam Docks first, Salty and Porter were shunting like always. "Ahoy!" Salty called, "what brings you here matey?" He asked, the same jolly smile on his face as usual. "I'm looking for Edward, have you seen him?" Thomas asked. "He was just here, he's taking some scrap to Reg's scrap yard." Porter said, also smiling. "Okay, thanks!" Thomas said before hurrying off again. Thomas sped down the line, whistling loudly, and looking for Edward. He stopped at a signal just as Edward stopped on the other track. "Edward! I need your help!" Thomas said out of breath. "Oh, is it an emergency? I'm quite busy." Edward said, "yes! It's an emergency! But It's also a long story." Thomas said, finally catching his breath enough to speak properly.
"Well? What is it?" Edward asked, a bit worried now. "Do you remember that ghost story i told?" Thomas questioned, "yes, I do." Edward said. "Well, its true, kind of. It's about this engine I met at the smelters but now Gordon and James, and probably Henry as well, are going to look for her and if they find her they'll tell the Fat Controller and if he finds out he'll scrap her!" Thomas rambled. "So...you found an old engine, told a ghost story based on her, and now you're worried she'll be scrapped if Gordon, James, and Henry find her?" Edward pieced the story together as best he could. "Yes! And they know where to look so we have to move her so they don't find her!" Thomas said, Edward took a moment to gather his thoughts and sighed, "alright, I'll help you." Edward said.
"Oh thank you Edward! Now come on! We haven't got time to sit around!" Thomas said. The two of them made their way to the smelters yard and Thomas lead Edward to the siding. "Whisper? Are you awake?" Thomas asked, "hello? Thomas? What are you doing here?" Whisper asked softly. "You're in danger, me and Edward are going to move you so that no one finds you, okay?" Thomas explained. "Who's going to find me?" Whisper asked, "Gordon, Henry, and James, if they find you they'll tell the Fat Controller and then you'll be scrapped! We have to move you." Thomas said. "Are you sure? I mean, I'm a large tender engine and you're a tank engine! No offense of course." Whisper said quietly. "None taken, that's why I brought Edward here, if he can help Gordon up his hill he can move you." Thomas said.
"Alright, if you're sure." Whisper said worriedly. "Oh, and this is Edward." Thomas said, gesturing his eyes to the blue engine in question. "Hello, nice to meet you." Edward said kindly. "Nice to meet you too, I supposed we should get moving." Whisper said, still sounding worried. "I suppose so." Edward said. Thomas coupled up to Whisper and Edward coupled up to Thomas. The two of them pulled, letting off steam as they did. Soon they were moving, it was the first time Whisper had moved in a long while. They puffed down the line, making sure no one would see them. Finally they came to an old line, "no one has been down here in ages, surely they won't find you here, It's completely abandoned." Thomas said.
They traveled down the abandoned line and left Whisper on the first siding they came across. Thomas and Edward uncoupled and backed up. "How is it here? Its not to spooky I hope." Edward asked. "Not at all, I don't mind how scarey it is." Whisper said softly. "Well, I suppose we can't stay here, me and Edward have work to do." Thomas said, "I hope you don't get lost in all this fog." Whisper responded. They said their goodbyes and left Whisper there, Edward went back to his work and Thomas returned to his branchline. Whisper was alone again, she didn't mind, she was used to it by now. She sighed and closed her eyes, deciding that some sleep would help pass the time.
