A/N: LMAO this chapter was supposed to be sad... oh well. I'll save that for the next chapter. For now, enjoy this one.

. . .

I hated myself.

I felt like my life was falling apart. Bit by agonising bit. I felt like my jaw was in a constant clench and my head was stuck in a forever migraine.

I was at the mall. Back where I was a couple weeks ago looking for an outfit, I was now here to return it.

And, of course, she had to be on her shift.

"Wilbur! It's so nice to see you. How was the wedding?" Kelsey smiled at me brightly. Her brown hair was tied up in a bun and she wore a headband that matched her work clothes.

"It went well," I smiled sadly, "We kissed."

Kelsey clapped her hands together. "Well, looks like my idea worked like a charm!"

I laughed, "Yeah, I guess it did..."
"So what brings you here today?"

I flushed, "Uh- well... I came here to... return it." I placed a blue plastic bag onto the counter where she stood.

She looked reasonably shocked, but she didn't ask any questions. Kelsey took the dress out from the bag, folded it, and placed it under the counter top.

"...do you have a receipt?"

I nodded, handing her the crumpled up paper. She handed me back my money as I then turned to leave.

"Wait!"

I looked at her in confusion, pausing in my steps.

"...you mind telling me why you decided to return it?"

I shrugged, "My mother didn't like it. So, that's that."

I yawned, dragging my feet against the sidewalk and walking back home. My head was aching, my body was tired, and I felt like I wanted to cry.

I didn't want to go home. The environment felt too hostile, since it was basically just me and my mother home. I didn't feel like dealing with her.
I was stressed.
Angry.
Sad.
And felt like drinking hot chocolate.
