A/N: thank you for the outfit suggestions!

. . .

I had to go outfit shopping.

I wanted to try something new. Something... refreshing. I wanted to wear something that would look good, but also make me stand out to the rest. Well, maybe just stand out in Alex's eyes.

I scanned the men's section with a frown on my face. None of the suits screamed, "I'm trying to impress my friend who I won't admit I have a crush on!" to me. Some of them were just too plain, and others just were too bright and something you wouldn't wear to a wedding. I also had to wear something that made sense to wear serving sweets.

My frown deepen. This had been my fifth shop. And I hate shopping.
A woman came up to me. She had blonde hair and brown eyes  Her face was adorned with freckles. She looked like she was in her early twenties. She had on the work uniform. She smiled, which seemed to irritate me.

"Hello sir! What are you looking for? Something formal I'm guessing?"

"Yep, I'm going to a wedding in a week. I know this is late shopping but I didn't have time to do it earlier..."
"Oh that's fine. Do you have a budget or..?"
"About 300 dollars is my max." I had been saving money for a while. This is my first splurge since I got this new job.

The woman oohed. Her nametag called her Kelsey. "Nice budget! Let's see what I can find you."

Kelsey gestured to many clothes, none of which I liked. Quackity was on my mind.

Eventually, Kelsey frowned. She must have finally realized why I had been looking in the racks for two hours. I'm indecisive and picky. A horrible mix.

"Do you have anything in mind, doll?"
"...not really? I'm... kind of looking for something that'll..."

Kelsey smirked. "Impress someone? Who are they? Do you have a picture?"

I gave her a shocked look, blush painting my face bright red. "How did you..?"
"We get a lot of people here that want an outfit to show off to someone... and you were obvious." She giggled. "Anyway, I wanted to get a picture to see the face of "said person" because usually I get a good aura and personality off of them. It helps me choose an outfit to give you. Pick your favourite picture of them."

I smiled. "Okay, I'll put my trust in you Kelsey."
"Thank you...?"
"Wilbur."
"Wilbur! What a nice name."

I pulled out my phone and opened up the photos app. I scrolled and tapped on a pretty recent photo.  It was of me and Alex at the coffee shop. We were both covered with flour. We were making a large assortment of cookies for the wedding. Alex was laughing. When he laughed, it had seemed to make his already perfect features pop. His hair was slightly damp from sweat. It was slicked back into a bun. He looked gorgeous. I blushed then embarrassingly showed her the picture. She smiled.

"They're really pretty. I think I know just the thing for you... if you're up for it?"
"Of course. Show me Kelsey."

"God... I can't believe I'm doing this."
I was in the dressing room; Kelsey stood outside with other options.
I smoothed down my outfit... which was a dress.

It shaped my figure nicely, mainly because it was skin-tight.  I gulped, looking at myself in the mirror. The dress was a pale yellow, going down to my knees. It was floral, small blue and yellow flowers decorated it. It had a slit in it, coming up to my mid thigh.
I felt... good.

I mean, it wasn't my favourite dress but... I liked the feeling. I liked it better than the suits. Much better.

"Wilbur? You okay in there bud?"
I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding. "Yep, yep, I'm okay."
"What'd you think about the dress?"
"I like it! But it isn't what I'd wear..."

"Of course, love. I have a bunch of options for you. Can I see you?"
"Uh yeah."
I opened the door for her to see.

"Oh, it looks so cute on you! And I can show you a bunch of different styles of dresses, don't worry. We'll have you sorted in no time, Wilbur. Just take off that dress and we can get started on our fashion spree!"

I grinned. "Awesome. I think Quackity'll like this."
