Two years passed as Wan had gotten used to the royal life of the palace. He treated all his servants with kindness and honor, being generous. Nán Avni Adya was now in charge of the manor, while Kaiyo moved into the capital with their inheritance. Too many painful memories in that house, she once said. The world was at peace, and Zaheer was, as he said, out of his mind, never to be thought of again. However, he had heard that Laghima was pleading that his father is spared from a lashing. Zaheer was no longer any threat nor arrogant man, forever a bound servant.
Wan was practicing calligraphy and chuckling as he thought of Kaiyo and her new suitors. He remembered when young Bó Ye Zhan Mí danced and sang a poem at the autumn banquet. Kaiyo was smitten, her eyes glued to the girl. Wan's plan was perfect. A zî, Logan Cú, a young philosopher, also caught her attention. Poor Kaiyo, though Wan suggested taking them both as husband and wife.
He was hoping they would marry soon. Jaya, Bolin, and Mako have all done well. Bolin got the attention of a wealthy merchant daughter, Opal Baifong. Mako also has a partner he settled down with who was middle class. Jaya, who preferred the single life, stayed that way. Wan felt saddened at Yao's passing a year ago. In a way, him being sold and Wan saving him was the best thing ever. Yao had an auspicious funeral, despite being a servant.
A servant girl bowed, "Fùmâ, Princess Korra has fainted." Wan immediately stopped what he was doing and ran to their Palace, where she sat with her maid and a doctor, who bowed. "Your Highness." The servants around Korra were smiling.
"Rise, what is wrong? Is my wife okay?"
"Replying to Fúmâ, Gōngzhǔ has a pregnancy pulse, about two months." Wan beamed as he looked at Korra, who rubbed her belly gently. "Really!?" Wan sat beside Korra. "Yes, it's certain. It's the hotter months, Gōngzhǔ has been pregnant, and her body is weak; working has put stress on her. She must rest to stabilize."
"Love, I told you not to stress yourself too much." Wan teased.
"I'm the crown princess; I have to work, handsome." Korra rubbed her belly softly. "Make sure the crown princess is well rested and taken care of," Wan said, and the doctor bowed slightly. "Yes, of course, I will take my leave." Wan rubbed Korra's belly, "We have children." Wan teared up. "Have you told mother and father?" Wan regarded Korra's family as his own at this point. Tonraq was a father Wan never had; he taught him everything he missed out on as a child. Wan was damn sure going to make sure he would be the best father he could, despite his trauma.
"No, they're getting the news right now." Korra hummed.
"You take so long to send news." Wan teased. Korra and Wan looked each other in the eyes, "You, Husband, are supposed to be charming.” Korra held her husband's hand with a smirk.
"And we, my wife, are supposed to live happily ever after," Wan said.
"According to who?" Korra asked, but Wan shrugged, "I don't know." Korra and Wan passionately kissed while they held each other's hands on Korra's belly.

Queen Honaka placed the shoe back, "They lived long and well, but by now, the truth of their ballad romance has been diminished to a simple fairy tale. And while the little Koi fish and his crane did live happily ever after… The point, Lady and Gentleman, is that they lived and loved."
