30: Is Fate our Ultimate Destiny?

"You bastard!!" Keshav yelled, getting hold of Mr. Sengupta's shirt collar." "Why did you kill my parents?"

"I killed?" Mr. Sengupta asked making such a face as if Keshav asked him something very absurd. "You have got the wrong person, boy. It was Dhriti who killed them."

"How dare you?" Dhriti shouted clenching her teeth. "How could you play with me like this? I did everything for you. You said that Lily and baba were planning to cast me out of the property will. They never loved me...it was just an act to look good in people's eyes."

"You are a fool, Dhriti. That father-in-law of mine gave everything to you and Lily. Every property...even the title of his greatest successor which had to be mine for being the best student. Others...were all bloody disturbances. Aditya told Rudroneel about Lily being lost and that's why I had to make you kill them."

"You are not even eligible to call a human anymore, you sick bastard!!" Keshav thundered lifting his t, "I will kill you!!!"

"Don't take the law in your hands, Keshav." Mr. Das's sound came from the stairs making everyone look at him and the team of policemen behind him. "Leave him to me."

Keshav left Mr. Sengupta's collars, pushing him back before moving away to let space for Mr. Das.

"When Radhika told me about her doubts, I contacted the hospital first where Vikram Sengupta was admitted by Aditya Sen and Jairaj sir. We have found the doctor who was in charge of him. He admitted taking money from Vikram for making false reports.

And I think Dhriti and Lily will also give their witnesses....so there is no way Vikram is getting away from this. Take him and Dhriti!!" Mr. Das ordered.

"If I don't get what I want.... I will not let anyone in peace. I will never!!!" Mr. Sengupta cursed before the police took him and Dhriti out of the house and put them in the police van. The whole way he kept on mumbling something under his breath.

"The case finally ends." Mr. Das said after everyone came out of the house. "You guys can take a few days off and Ishaan is officially proved non-guilty."

He walked towards and patted Radhika's shoulder, "I know how much you are hurting now but I have to say you proved yourself a true cop. Sometimes in life, we face many things that break us completely but we need to come out of that. I know you will also. You will have to.... you can't destroy your life for someone bad."

Radhika nodded, trying to hold back the tears that threatened to burst out at any moment.

"You have a very big responsibility now. You have your mother and brother. You need to take care of them. And it's okay to not to be okay......it's okay to cry and let your emotions out......" Mr. Das said before going towards his car.

Radhika went and hugged her mother, as the tears flowed across her cheek. No one will understand nor will she be able to tell what she was feeling. She was shattered from inside. She did want to change her fate, but she never wanted to get a life like this.

From the corner of her eyes, she saw the police car leaving. Her sight may have been slightly blocked due to the tears but she didn't miss the unblinking stare of her father towards her from the van's window, the smile of delight slightly turning into a sneer.

"Why did he sneer like that?" Ishaan asked the same question that formed in Radhika's mind. "What is remained for him to do?"

Seeing her brother, she remembered what Mr. Das said, she truly had a big responsibility. She went and hugged her brother. He was just seventeen and had to go through so much. He lost everything he had from childhood and was betrayed too.

"I am sorry...I am sorry Ishaan." Radhika said patting his back. "We have to be strong. We will live a happy-------

Ahhh!!!" She screeched moving back, looking downwards the next second. Her hands reached her stomach automatically as a reaction to what just happened. She just had been stabbed by her brother.

Ishaan moved back and threw the knife as realization hit him. The hypnotism spell finally broke due to the shock. The most thing he feared had just happened.... He had just stabbed the person he loved the most. He stabbed his sister with the knife he took when he was under the spell back in the house.

Why? Why it always had to be someone she loved, someone she cared about? Didn't she even have a right to live peacefully without being betrayed?

She was right from the start. One can't change his or her lines of fate. It was all written from before, she was meant to have a short lifespan.

Then how did she expect something more like an idiot???

"Rai!" Keshav held her from behind before she lost her balance. He slumped down, placing her head in his lap. "Nothing will happen...nothing will happen." He kept on speaking the same words like a rhyme looking at Radhika's face. He was not being able to do anything. His body got stiffened.

He can't lose her...he can't......

"Call the ambulance!!" Rishav yelled before kneeling beside his sister. "Rai...stay awake. Nothing will happen to you. We are all here." He said while pressing on the wound with his handkerchief to reduce the bleeding.

Radhika looked at everyone with a smile on her face. Vaarsh and Ansh were holding her mother who was crying her heart out. Dhruv was on the phone trying to get the ambulance. Yash was at the side of Ishaan who looked like a dead person.

Everyone looked so pale, with tears in their eyes. But she didn't want to leave the world like that. She wanted to see everyone happy. But at least everything was going to be good now....

Ishaan could start his life in a new way, and the misunderstanding between him and Yash ended. Her mother was free, her team could go back to their respective lives and work...sure they will miss her but they will eventually get acquainted with their life...everyone does. People make themselves capable enough to move on from the past.

She felt her eyes closing. Her body was going numb and the pain felt bearable...it was nothing like the pain she was feeling in her heart. She slowly turned her head towards Rishav who was trying his best, to hold back his tears, and then to Keshav, the boy she fell in love with.

She was going to have only one regret in life...not being able to live a peaceful day with her family, friends, and Keshav but at least she made some great friends who will remember her, and at least she is not going to die like an outcast as she had always been....

"B-Be h-happy." Her voice broke as she slowly held Keshav's hands in her shaking ones. "T-Take care of t-them."

"Don't say things like this Rai...." Keshav rubbed away the tears from her cheek. "It's your duty. You have to take care of them, not me."

"I-I know...... you will..." Radhika said before sharing a moment of silence with Keshav, drowning in his chocolate brown eyes. It was the first thing that attracted her.

"I-I l-love y-you..............." The words left her lips before her eyes finally closed down, followed by the loosening of the grip she had on Keshav's hands......

"RAIIIIIIII !!!!!!!!!"
