The next day
Min Yoongi was happily sleeping away in his bed. It was a Sunday morning, so there were no meetings to go to with his father and no one to nag him about. The birds were chirping, the sun was shining – behind the curtains – and everything was just...perfect.
"Yoongi!" A choked whisper came from beside his ear.
Sighing, Yoongi spoke. "If this is about my sister's kids, Jungkook, I don't want to hear it." He snuggled deeper into the mattress, trying to ignore the blonde boy who had disrupted his precious sleep.
"No, Yoongi, it's serious! You need to get up!" The voice whispered to him again, this time in a more urgent manner.
Yoongi groaned before rolling over to where his cousin was and popping open an eye to look at the frightened man. "What it is it, Jungkook?"
Jungkook sat silently, bitting his lip for a moment and looking as if he was almost contemplating whether he should tell Yoongi.
"Jungkook spit it out, please. I don't have all morning."
"Uncle Junwoo is coming!" Jungkook finally gushed, holding his shaking hands together.
Now both of Yoongi's eyes were open and he was sitting up in the bed.
"Dad's coming?" He repeated to the blonde, who nodded fervently in response. "Why?"
Jungkook gave a quick glance around the room as if he thought the walls were spying on them. "I don't know, but it's something serious, Yoongi! He said he's gonna kill us!"
Those words made Yoongi's blood run cold. His father was no liar, and he did not beat around the bush. All the people Yoongi had heard his father say he would kill ended up dead within a week – family or not. He was not going to sit around and let that happen to himself.
Within the blink of an eye, Yoongi was rushing around the room, shoving clothes into a bag he had found frantically as he looked over at Jungkook. "Why would he be after me? What did I even do?!" He asked of the horrified blonde. He was nothing less of obedient to his father, following in his footsteps so he could eventually become the heir of the Min Gang.
"Don't ask me! I just woke up with a message from your sister telling me he was out for both of us!" The younger boy fretted as he paced around the room. "What are we going to do, Yoongi?!"
Yoongi threw his bag over his shoulder and grabbed the boy by the arm leading him to the window that showed the yard two stories below them. He told the boy to stay still while he tied some clothes together into a long rope, poking his head through the window to search the yard for guards before throwing the rope out the opened window.
Rushing about the room, he then tied the homemade rope to his bed frame, pulling it to make sure it was stable. As Jungkook watched him in confusion, he quickly put his legs over the windowsill, hanging them over the edge of the window. Without a word to Jungkook, he was climbing down the rope with the blonde, frantically calling out for him above.
"Yoongi! Don't leave me here!" Jungkook cried as he heard footsteps approaching Yoongi's door. He turned to the door in fear and then back to Yoongi, who was now on the ground, safe and sound. Taking a quick glance around him to check for any of his father's men, Yoongi looked up at the young man who was fretting above him.
"Just climb down!" He whisper-yelled, the words only loud enough for Jungkook to hear. Jungkook shook his head with a frightened look. "There is no way I'm doing that Yoongi!" He called back to the raven haired man, who rolled his eyes in response. There was no way he was waiting for his scaredy-cat cousin to climb down the wall. He might as well just go back up to his room and let his father shoot him.
Picking up his bag, he turned to walk away from the window.
"Hey! Wait for me!" Jungkook protested, now reluctantly climbing through the window as Yoongi had. Yoongi watched as the young boy hesitated in fear before closing his eyes for a quick breather and grabbing unto the clothing-rope. Unsteadily, he made his way down the wall, whimpering when he slipped on the bricks of the house wall, before reaching the ground beneath it beside Yoongi.
Yoongi tapped him on the arm. "Let's get out of here."
Jungkook nodded wearily, looking back at the rope they had just climbed down from before following Yoongi as he headed towards the fence that enclosed the Min Mansion. When they reached the tall gate, Yoongi quickly typed in the numbers of the passcode he luckily remembered and both men were out of the residence in a flash.
"Where are we meant to go now?" Jungkook asked the raven haired man as he made his way past his father's large estate.
Yoongi didn't look at Jungkook but kept his eyes on the busy Chicago street.
It had all been such a sudden occurrence that the thought hadn't crossed Yoongi's mind.
"I didn't really think that part through."
A/N:
Hellooo and welcome one and all
I hope that you're enjoying the book!
If you noticed, I have changed my writing style for this book, its a bit different from my usual one. I kinda hate my writing so I thought I might put a little more effort into this one:)
I promise I'm getting there with the story, I just really love a good buildup.
Thanks for reading!
