It was actually a month since she had seen her friends and it wasn't for the lack of trying, no. they're just busy building the career they want that meeting up for small talk need to be in an acad-free week.
Liyenne entered the café after she messaged Brian about her whereabouts. There was no need to update him but he does the same for her so she'd like to reciprocate the act. She breathed in deeply since so much has happened in a month and she doesn't even know if she can tell her friends about it now. Backing out from this meet-up is not in the choices because she is sure they don't have the luxury to schedule plans on a whim yet.
She spotted her friends at a table on the balcony. The café had a warm vibe to it, its beige and pumpkin colors adding to the warmth of the Halloween season. She waved at Angie when she noticed her and the girl alerted their friends. They all waved at her and Liyenne smiled at the image her friends painted. She missed them so much.
"Hey, Yenne! We missed you. So glad you had some free time today," My friend Izo spoke as she moved my chair for me to seat on.
"Of course! It's been a month since we saw each other. I miss talking to you over coffee," Yenne said as she smiled at her friends.
"Anyway, Yenney baby, I heard interesting things about you along with a guy from engineering. He's from Xavier too," Nikki told her and waved her eyebrows at her. Liyenne had to stop herself from blushing.
"What did you hear about it?" Yenne asked, worried about just what the rumors were. She did not think it would be talked of, XU is a big school after all.
"Oh just that you and Brian, the guy, cannot be seen without the other. Yesterday my friend's boyfriend, which is a friend of Brian, asked us where you were and when we said we didn't know he just shook his head. We asked him why and he said that he needed to see Brian. Obviously, we wondered why would he look for you when looking for Brian. Then he told us that most of Brian's friends and yours would look for the other if they cannot find you. That's honestly very weird," Nikki smiled as she finished talking and waited for the rest of her friends to comprehend what she just said.
Liyenne froze, not knowing what to do or to say. She did not notice her friends asking for Brian when she was not around and vice versa. She spent this month by his side and the only time they'll separate is when they go to their respective classes. Honestly, she did not even know why she was spending so much time with him, they had an agreement! She'll come out as a loser after this but she can't bring herself to stop it.
"Yenne, maybe you want to clarify things for us?" Izo asked her knowingly. Aware of the fact that she's blushing so much and can't even look them in the eyes.
She cleared her throat and told them she'd order first and then she'll talk. She did not know where to start. Liyenne knows that she goes into things without thinking too much about the consequences but so far nothing has been against this. She can't handle if her friends are because even her family loves Brian. She returned to their table when she finished ordering and asked if the coffee could be brought to their table.
"It started when I met him during my stay in the library. I was studying for pre-finals that day and I happened to share tables with him. At first, I did not give a fuck because it's a library so anyone can sit anywhere obviously. So I just studied and minded my business. I had a microbiology lecture that day and was studying for the Gen Phys lec exam, so I was focused because, bae, a bitch cannot study pretty if she's a dumb bitch right. But girl, when I stood up and was heading for a cafe because I just needed strong caffeine that day, he stood up too. At first, I didn't think it was weird because again, the library! So I just went down and was on my way toward the gate when he called for me and asked me if he could go with me since he has free slots for the rest of the day.
