"Did you get enough to eat, baby?"

Stevie turned her head around slightly from the magnificent ocean view and the twinkling white lights from the trees outside the restaurant sparking along the water, seeing the man she loved walking towards her with a smile that made his blue eyes sparkle like the ocean before them.

"Plenty," she said with a giggle, and she immediately hid herself away in his chest as his arms went around her. "I'm stuffed, actually...but the tour is over...I can pig out a little because I don't have to fit into the black costumes for a long time."

"You could eat Thanksgiving dinner three meals a day forever and you'd still be beautiful," she heard her husband say softly into her hair before kissing the top of her head. "My beautiful little girl."

Stevie Nicks was seventy-four years old. She had been a wife for thirty-five years. She was a mother. She was a grandmother. But to him, she was also his little girl, the adorable woman who'd stood on the beach here in Hawaii one beautiful fall afternoon in 1987 and kissed him in front of a small group of people...their people...and vowed to be his little girl forever.

"Baby..." Her arms went upwards and she cradled his face in her hands, kissing gently against his neck and drinking in the warm scent of home that she'd loved for decades, that was uniquely his. "I've been waiting all day...will you please tell me my big surprise now?"

"Have you been a good girl?" he teased, and she nodded.

"I've been a very good girl." She brushed her lips to his now, and then once more. "Please, baby...it's our anniversary and you told me my present was going to knock me out...I want to be knocked out."

"Your wish is my command, my beautiful wife." He kissed her this time, lingering against her lips for one long, tender moment, and when her eyes fluttered open he was smiling at her. He said, "Let me wrangle the kids and we'll get this show on the road. Okay?"

"Okay." She smiled back as he disappeared into the crowd.

Thirty-five Thanksgivings ago, when she had stood on the sand and promised to love this man forever, it had been the easiest vow in the world for two reasons - she had loved him for years leading up to their wedding day, and it had been a perfect day that had put to an end a year that had been anything but perfect.

She couldn't believe they'd survived it all...
