I yawn loudly as I stretched my body, squinting my eyes from the sunlight beaming at my eyes. The bright light emerges when I decided to fling open the curtains to the side, meeting a gradient abstract that surrounds our house. Greenish land where flowers and butterflies are flying around. I smirk when a kid stops in front of my window behind our garden fences, he waved at me the same as his peers.
"Morning, Sky!!" He beamed putting a smile on my face.
"Morning! And don't be loud some might be still sleeping!" I yell
"Sorry!" He chirped happily and then run off somewhere I don't know where
I closed my curtains and then lay down again. Even though the sunlight screamed for me to get up, my body was against it, and I loved to agree with my brain about this. I yawn while stretching, again, then turn to the side, facing a wall, and closed my eyes. Maybe a minute can be spared.
Or not?
"SKY! GET UP ALREADY! YOU'RE GOING TO BE LATE!!" my mother screamed. I groan, covering my ears from her loud as a whale underwater voice. Why does she have so much energy in the morning? I don't get it. My body would like to lay down and sleep until the other day will come. "SKY!!"
I grumble and then yell. "FIVE MINUTES!! I'M STILL SLEEPY!!" I closed my eyes again to sleep when she screamed the magic words that can make my body fully awake. I grunt.
I hate it when she knew my weakness!
"WE HAVE STEAM BUNS!! EAT IT WHILE IT IS STILL HOT!!" she yells once more, hearing a pinch of teasing in her voice.
I grumble, absentmindedly walking downstairs with my feet dragging my body alone. Did she not understand that I'm too tired? She should've let me sleep! I huffed under my breath, pouting as a thud was heard when I slam my forehead down on the table. Aw, that hurts!
"Morning, lazy boy" she stated hearing some plates being brought to the table. It makes my face look up, still, my chin laying flat on the table while pouting. My eyes follow her hand as she prepares the food and then sits. "Eat up. School starts in an hour or so" she says making me lazily hum in the process.
Still sleepy, eyes hanging from awake and asleep, I pick up my spoon to eat rice and then sip from the soup she made. Slowly my body begins to fully wake up as I sip every last drop of the soup. I looked at her and she has this smirk written on her face.
"What? You're creeping me out" I commented as my eyes is still heavily droopy. I chew the steam buns this time taking the entire container in front of me.
"Still feeling sleepy?" I shrug chewing the second steam bun already. She sighs, finally eating her food. "I chant some magic in there to make yourself awake. I knew you were tired from mistress orders, but don't push yourself too much. I'll get worried if you have the same wound again as the last time you went home" I just hum, feeling guilty that I made her worried about my stupidity, again. I sigh as I eat the last steam buns on the container, finishing all ten of them.
I looked at her, tugging my lips upwards. "I'm fine, mom. I can heal myself" I commented, showing my good features that don't have bandages, wounds, and bruises like last time.
"But still," she used her backhands to bonk me in my head. ", you're too reckless for your good, you little brat"
I pout raising my brow at her. "I'm not a brat"
"Then prove it, by not having any kind of wounds or bruises when you get back," she stated, eating her food and looking at me with her dark vermillion eyes as it tells me I-dare-you-to-do-that look.
