Daisy looked at the window, it was a fresh October 30 morning, it had to be a coincidence that this is happening a day before the busiest night of the year... right?

Max jumped into a box to direct.

"We pets, uh... are gonna be out of the building for a while."

Pickles cocked and eyebrow. "What do you mean?" He freaked out, "Are we going to the pound?!"

Max chuckled lighty. "No, we're not going to the pound. They're going to fix the building's walls since they're scrathed and broken, while our owners stay in a shelter in the meantime, that's all."

He rose "Anymore questions?"

"Why is your fur brown?" Princess asked.

"Ugh-"

"Why are your species short?" Asked Pickles.

"Well, I-"

"And why did you weared the cone last time?" Tiny said.

"Enough, furballs!" Pops said.

The older pets murmured across the room, except for Norman.

"Saw that coming a literal vent away."

Chloe glared at him. "How?"

We then see past Norman in the vents, lost again. He goes through the lobby, noticing the building's owner talking with someone on the phone.

There was a silence before he talked.

"Yeah, they're disturbing everybody and I even got complaints because of them."

Hearing this, Norman heads back to the vent.

"Yes please, I want them gone by tomorrow."

Norman gasps, and quickly goes away.

Once he's gone, he is unaware of what the
owner was actually talking about.

"Yes, those will be the cracks on the walls."

"I overheard the owners of the building talking about removing us."

Gidget widened her eyes. "Removing us?"

"Not you," Norman said, "and also Pops and the puppies since you both live in the side building from ours'."

They sighed with relief.

Pops headed towards the window.

The closer he was to home, the better.

"Well, goodnight."

Gidget grabbed him by his tail and send him inside the apartment again.

Pops sighed. "Can't an old dog get some rest?"

"But what about us?" Snowball asked anxiously.

Max directed again. "We're all gonna get taken care of. Workers are gonna come tomorrow, they're gonna take the furniture. After that they're just gonna take us with them. We're going on the car! On our way to... " He murmured the last words.

The pets got closer.

"Going where?" Chloe asked firmly.

Max tried to say the words again, but they turned again to murmurs.

"What?" They all said.

Max fliched and closed his eyes as he answered:
"On our way to the Animal Shelter."

The pets exploded.

"What?!" Snowball complained. "Out of all the places in the world, did it had to be the Animal Shelter?"

"We might as well become strays." Chloe whispered behind her.

Daisy forced a laugh.

But she had to disagree, she knew that Animal Shelters worked hard to take care of pets and take them to good homes.

Sure, there was the bad things with them, but it wasn't like they were going to stay there for the rest of their lifes...

Buddy rolled his eyes. "Guys, it's just for the night."

Norman gulped. "Hallowen night."

Thunder sounded from outside, causing Hu to jump and get close to Daisy.

Snowball helped her comfort him. As they did, Daisy glanced at the window.

She could tell a big storm was coming soon...

"Nothing scary actually happens on Halloween." Chloe said, Rolling her eyes at the hamster's words.

"This doesn't count for us being strays, right?" Duke said nervously.

In the past, Duke was in the pound, or at least that's what Snowball told her, and if he went again as a stray animal nobody wanted...

"Not at all. We're gonna be taken by our owners first thing in the morning." Max explained quickly.

"I won't stand being in a cage for a whole night." Chloe groaned.

Thunder sounded again.

"Especially with this storm." She added, looking at the window.

"I'm sure you'll have toys once we get to the shelter." Gidget informed her.

"Not only that," Buddy said, "but they don't try at all to make the trip comfortable."

"Everyone will be comfortable." Tiberius said.
