"You don't give a fuck bout' nobody but yo' self!"
Brooklyn leaned back on the couch, listening to her boyfriend, Nasir, yell at her. She looked up at him, shrugging her shoulders, "So what."
"You see this shit. You are so fuckin' crazy, Brooklyn. You are fucked up in the head."
Brooklyn blinked a few times and looked up, attempting to stop herself from crying. She never knew how to express how she was truly feeling, so acting nonchalant seemed like her best option.
"Brooklyn, I know you hear me," he looked at her, furrowing his eyebrows, "Brooklyn, I swear if you don't answer me right now, I'm done with yo' ass."
Brooklyn tapped her foot repeatedly on the floor, "I um-" she stopped talking after hearing her voice crack. Nasir looked at her, waiting for her to finish her sentence before grabbing his things, before walking towards the door.
"Nasir wait," Brooklyn's voice cracks once again as she stands up from the couch, "I'm sorry."
"That's all you got to say?"
Brooklyn looked at him with glossy eyes, swallowing the lump that was in her throat. "I um-" she stops herself, and takes a deep breath, "I don't know what you want me to say, Nasir."
"Nah, you good. You don't got to say nothin' else," he opened, the door leaving out the house, slamming the door behind him.
Tears began streaming down Brooklyn's face as soon as the door shut. She and Nasir had been dating for almost 2 years before their breakup. The first time they took a break a year ago, it was Nasir's fault. But, this time, it was Brooklyn's.

"Bitch that nigga is so sassy, he thinks he in a fuckin' movie," Kaylyn, Brooklyn's best friend joked, "Not the fuckin' dramatic exit. The hell."
"Too soon Kay, she just went through a breakup." Lyric, her other friend says.
Brooklyn was laid out on the couch, listening to their conversation.
"I'm sorry Brookie, you okay, girl?" Kaylyn asks.
Brooklyn gives them a thumbs up then puts her hands back in her pockets.
