Sunny and Nabi walked along the side walk from the store. Sunny carrying a bag filled with various juices for each member of the team while Nabi drunk from her coffe cup.
"Nabi", Sunny called out causing Nabi to glance at her.
"Yes?", Nabi replied.
"Do you think...Like do you ever wonder what life would be like if...If we had a mom?", Sunny drifted looking down causing Nabi to stop walking.
Noticing Nabi's sudden pause Sunny turned to see her sister's stotic face. An expression that reminded Sunny of their father.
"She wasn't there so does it really matter? No need questioning things that will never happen.", Nabi stated simply walking ahead causing Sunny to sigh.
In all honesty Sunny should have known. Sunny should have known that she would get this reaction from Nabi.
In fact Nabi, in all their years, have never entertained the idea of having a mom. After all Nabi never truly had it easy as a child and Sunny knew that. Sunny was there, Sunny saw, and Sunny did her best but Nabi was outcasted even before she was born.
"Kwan?", a six-year-old Sunny called as she walked through the market.
"Kwan, come out you know grandma doesn't like when you go outside!", Sunny yelled in irritation looking around the market.
"You bastard child!! Get away from my stall!! I don't want your barbarian ancestors to haunt me and give me bad luck!", Sunny heard a vendor yell.
Sunny ran as fast as her little legs could take her around the corner.
Sunny rounded the corner to see her little sister curled into a ball being slapped with a stick by a vendor as she yelled at the little girl.
"Ma'am please stop!", Sunny yelled running up to the vendor and grabbing her arm that held the stick.
The vendor flung her arm causing Sunny to fall to her knees, yelping in pain.
Nabi looked up to see Sunny's face scrunched up in pain. With wide tear-filled eyes, Nabi got up and stood in front of her elder sister as the vendor went to hit Sunny.
Due to this Nabi got a direct hit causing an immediate gash to appear on her head, leading to blood running down the girl's face. However, not once did the girl yell in pain. Nabi stood with her arms spread out in front of her elder sister, glaring at the vendor with unshed tears in her eyes.
Seeing this the vendor's eyes widen before she scoffed in disgust,
"Look at you, With the eyes of a barbarian. You shouldn't be walking around like you are a regular person in this neighborhood when you are the product of a monster! You are the disgrace of your family! Tainting the good name of your father! You should be ashamed! Why can't you be like your sister?!", the vendor yelled at Nabi angrily.
