The black van rolled up in front of the school gates.
"It won't be hyung himself, right? Soul noona knows his face. He wouldn't come here and ruin the whole mission.... right?" Jisung's voice cracked slightly as he looked around at the others.
The group froze, his words sinking in. "Noona?" a couple of them echoed, startled by the way he said it.
But then another boy shook his head quickly. "No- wait. Jisungie's right! Hyung went to her when he let her go! It CAN'T be him... he'd never take that risk..."
Their nerves eased for a brief second- until the car door clicked open again. The boys froze as the tinted door slid open. A pair of tall figures stepped out, their presence sharp enough to cut through the noise of the yard- and then... the back door swung wide.
Time seemed to stop. Their gazed locked with the shadowy figure inside.
"Oh, fuck...." they breathed, barely over a whisper. They had eye contact for awhile before the door closed again. The men who had already stepped out crossed the gate and headed straight toward them, their heavy footsteps echoing against the quiet tension that gripped the group.
"Hyung, we can explain!" Renjun blurted, his voice cracking.
The man's sharp eyes swept across them. "Oh? really? I'd like to hear your explanation!Because from where I am standing, you should be thankful that Taeyong hyung can't step out of this car right now- because of your sister, Sungchan!" He jabbed a finger towards him. "He'd wash your head without mercy, he is really furious! How can you be so careless!?" Ten snapped, his voice slicing through the quiet.
The younger boys looked at the ground, shifting uncomfortably.
"Ten," the oldest said calmly, his tone completly opposite. "Breath, we'll sort this out." He turned back to the group.
"The principal wants to see us. Let's go."
"But-" Haechan began.
"No buts! Move now!" Ten barked, shoving the boys forward.
A sudden voice stopped them. "Chanie?"
Sungchan's head whipped around, seeing his sister stannding there.
"Soul!" he exclaimed surprised, rushing toward her. She looked at him confused and worried. "Who's that?" she asked, looking at the two strangers behind her brother. "They are just- wait...what happened?" he asked- now finally noticing the water dripping down from her. Her hair clung onto her face, her uniform wet too.
"Where's hyung?"
She lowered her gaze, cheeks flushed. "He... he's with the others." she murmured, pointing vaguely behind her.
Her soaked uniform dripped onto the pavement. Sungchan gently lifted a strand of wet hair from her face. "What happened to you? Why is your hair and uniform wet?"
"It's nothing... really. I'm fine." she said, voice soft, avoiding his gaze.
He frowned, unconvinced. "Let me guess, it's only water and you'll forget it anyways?" He said, his voice dripping with annoyance. The girl swallowed insecure. "Soul, you-" "It's really only water..." she insisted- cutting his protest short.
"I'll manage... I'm used to much worse..." she answered murmuring, looking down embaressed. Sungchan's jaw tighened, but he swallowed the argument pressing on his tongue. He sighed defeated. He opened his mouth, but she cut him off.
"Where are you going with them? Who are they?"
"I have to go with them. We need to explain to principal Jeong what happened... these are the brothers of the boys..." "And why-" "Mr. Jeong wants to talk to them. It's better if more of us are there- witnesses instead of wor against word." He said, trying to reassure her.
