I woke up very delighted today. The thought of leaving Nigeria was just so surreal

I was able to find a law firm that was hiring lawyers in Capetown. Things were looking so good.
I sat recounting how the conversation with the boss went.

"Good da,  Miss Tamilore Ugw. It'ss my pleasure to announce that you've bagged a six month deal with Vehze consult. We're a small law firm located on the eastern wing of Cape Town, South Africa
We're looking forward to having you. We'll send you more of the company details, date of commencemen,  and the rest through youremaill. Since you're new, we're giving you a cute apartment to begin with until you find your fee. ".

"Whoa....Oh my God,thank you so much... I'm so..."

"Mrs. Ugwo, right?
Law in Capetown or let me say SA, in general, is a big deal. There are so many eyes watching and so we can't take any chances.
Uhhh, not to sound nosy, but why Vehze? I mean, your qualifications far outweigh that of small consults like ours. You're far more mature to be twining with consults like ours. Should we be worried or anything?"

"Oh yeah yeah...err...I get where you're coming from. To begin with, I'm not any secret agent or undercover person or anything. I'm just simply put, trying to get back on my feet. As a prospective lawyer, I think that laying low for now will help me more in that pursuit. "

"Uhm,okay.
I am looking forward to working with you, ma'am. I just hope you would be very professional and wouldn't  let emotions from this your 'Finding your feet' affect your working prowess.
Please send us your flight details so we'd arrange for someone to pick you up.
Thank you ma'am"

"Uhm, Hey... Thank you so much. You have no idea how this is going to help me. And....Let's drop the ma'am and Mrs. Ugo for now.
I'd appreciate it if you'd address me as Tami. Thank you. "

"Alright... Ma'am.
No Tami.
Can't wait to have you here in Cape.
Safe journey if I'm not able to reach you."

"Thank you...."

And that was it.

Herh Tami, you too suffer for this Lagos. It's time to upgrade!

Scribbling into my big planner, I started to make my schedules defined. When I'll go shopping, clothes, more clothes, more clothes, packing and finally, saying Aurevoir to Naija!

Wait, did I say shopping? Did I say clothes? OMG....That was me relapsing!
Girl's too broke to afford her old life, so I suppose I could just readjust with my old closet.
Here I come, Cape Town!
