As if a switch had been flipped, the moment Alise blinked she found herself back in front of the museum once more. She felt quite disoriented with how quick the transition had been, but quickly recovered since they knew exactly what to do now.
They used the grappling hook to meet up inside the museum with Mark, they neutralized the guard, they got the keys to the safe... everything was playing out exactly as it'd played the first time, with Mark going as far as repeating the same exact lines.

The district attorney then proceeded to pick the sewers again, much to the man's displeasure, but there was a specific reason for that: ever since their first go with that adventure, they'd gotten pretty curious about that dark tunnel, what was hiding in there? They needed to find out, plus, if the light tunnel was a one-way ticket to never ever getting back to the base... maybe they'd be luckier with the other one.

As they walked around in the sewers, Alise spoke up "So... can we try going into the dark tunnel this time?"

Mark flinched and looked at her as if she was crazy "You- you wanna go... where all the screaming and death is?"

"I-I mean, why not? If the light tunnel is a trap... maybe this one won't be?" they tried reasoning, although they themselves weren't too sure of what they were talking about.

"Oh- oh yeah of course... that's- that's the right choice, that feels right..." he said, looking extremely against it, but picking the dark tunnel regardless "It feels- it feels good going this way, I like this, I like it a whole lot..."

Alise rolled their eyes "A reminder that you've given me a choice here... come on, stop complaining, I'm sure it won't be that bad!"

Mark grumbled a bit, soon pulling a torch out of nowhere "Whatever, let's at least get some light in here... that's better" he muttered as he kept walking "Okay, follow me... that exit's gotta be around here somewhere..."

"Yeah, I mean, a sewer system with no exits is unheard of!" they agreed, until Mark suddenly came to a stop, and they bumped into him "W-what's going on?"

"I just had an idea... what if we split up? We could cover more ground and find the exit sooner!" he suggested with a big grin "I'll just uh- keep moving forward, and you go back the way we came, and if either of us finds the exit, we'll just uh... we'll scream! Scream for the other one, and we'll scream as loud as we can! And we'll come running for the other one!"

"That's... not really what I had in mind... this place could still be dangerous, what would happen if either of us got hurt, or worse?" Alise muttered looking at Mark "I- I just don't know if splitting up is a great idea right now"

"Oh c-come on, 50% of any relationship or marriage or anything-- you know- they usually split up so... maybe we should too?"

She was taken aback by that statement "E-excuse me WHAT?! What does that have anything to do with this? And more importantly, have you ever read a horror book? Everyone knows splitting up only leads to bad outcomes, I'm NOT letting this happen, no sir" they said, crossing their arms.
