6. It's not my place

LOUIS

This was the first time that Skye was staying over at his place overnight. Louis knew that Chris had to really push the issue with his ex, as Chris normally only got to take Skye out during the day.

So Louis knew that this was important for Chris, and that he needed to make sure that Skye felt welcomed, that way she would want to spend the night again. So a few days before, he went out and bought a few things for her, like a pink bath towel, a rainbow blanket, bed sheets with little unicorns in them, among others thing. His flat was only one bedroom, so they obviously didn't have a room for her, so he made her bed in the living room, as the couch turned into a bed.

As soon as he finished making her bed, Skye came out of the bathroom with Chris, who had been giving her a bath, and she was already ready for bed.

"Do you like your bed?" Louis asked her.

"Yeah" Skye nodded, and pointed at the bed covers "It has unicowns".

"It does" Louis grinned, and opened the covers  for her, and she got it "Are you cozy?".

"Yeah, but can I have Hippo?" Skye asked, and Louis knew she meant her stuffed animal, she loved it.

"Here, love" Chris said and handed it to her.

"Alright, I think daddy is going to read you a story now" Louis told her, and Chris nodded "Goodnight, I'll see you tomorrow, sweetheart".

"Good night, Louis" Skye said back.

Louis left her with Chris, and he went to his room and got ready for bed, knowing that even though it was early and it was Saturday, they wouldn't be able to use the living room, so they might as well just go to bed.

He had never dated anyone who had a kid before, so when Chris told him on the second date that he was a dad, Louis' first reaction was to not want to date him anymore. But then he realized that that was stupid, and when he eventually met Skye, he realized he had nothing to worry about.

"She fell asleep before I even finished the story" Chris said when he came to the bedroom.

"She was probably tired, we did a lot today" Louis considered, as they had taken Skye to the Zoo today.

"Thank you for always being so nice to Skye, and for getting her all that you did to make her feel at home, it means a lot to me" Chris smiled as he wrapped his arms around Louis' waist.

"It's no problem" Louis replied "She's your daughter, and I want you to be able to spend as much time as you can with her".

"I won the lottery with you, didn't I?" Chris smiled again.

"You did" Louis chuckled.

"I love you so much" Chris told him.

"I love you too" Louis said and Chris kissed him.

Chris got ready for bed then, and they watched the telly for a while, but they were tired as well after their day in the Zoo, so quickly enough they decided to sleep.

The next morning, Louis woke up alone in bed.

Was Chris making breakfast already?

Louis got up and left the bedroom, and that was when he saw Chris sleeping in the living room bed with Skye. He thought it was a sweet sight, and he thought about taking a picture, but that was when Chris woke up.

"Good morning" Chris said sleepily.

"Good morning" Louis said back and smiled "Why are you there?".

"Skye went to get me at some point because she was scared, and didn't want to be alone" Chris replied and yawned.
