The day Harry got his visa approved he told Louis he would get on a plane the next day, but that hadn't been possible, so they had to wait a few days to get the tickets in order and all of the paperwork.
But on Saturday, Elena and him boarded the plane to go to New York, after a long and emotional farewell at the airport with their family.
The truth was that Harry was nervous about this plane ride, because this was Elena's first time getting on a plane, and she wasn't in phase in her life where she was very well behaved. Because she had recently learnt to walk and run, she always wanted to walk and run, and that was not compatible with flying.
Thankfully they had gotten a night flight, so Harry was hoping Elena would sleep most of the time. But it was still a mess, and Elena was cranky the entire time, and kept waking up crying, and Harry had to change her nappy 3 times in the span of 8 hours, which was not easy on those tiny airplane bathrooms.
But finally they landed in New York when it was 11:30 PM local time, but for Harry and Elena it was 4:30 AM, so although they had both slept a little on the plane, it hadn't been much, and Elena fell asleep in her stroller as they waited for their suitcases.
It was a struggle actually, to balance pushing the stroller and a cart with 3 huge suitcases, but he managed to do it with some effort, which was all worth it when he finally saw Louis, who was holding a little sign that said: HARRY AND ELENA ❤️.
When Louis saw him, his lips turned into a huge smile, and he walked up to them fast, and threw his arms at Harry.
"You're here" Louis said as their bodies met and they hugged tightly.
"We're here, baby" Harry said while he embraced his husband and tried to put in the hug all the love he had for him "We're here".
"I missed you" Louis said without letting go "I missed you so much, I love you".
"I love you, baby" Harry said back.
Louis let go, and dried the rim of his eyes, and smiled down at the stroller, where their toddler was sleeping, and bent down in front of it.
"My girl" a Louis said softly as he stroked her rosy cheek "How was she on the plane?",
"Not that bad, she slept for a while, and she only cried twice but calmed down fast" Harry decided to lie, knowing Louis would hate himself for how messy it had been (although it was obviously not his fault).
"That's my girl" Louis cooed just as Elena yawned and opened her eyes a little "Hi, baby, mummy missed you so much"
"Mama" Elena said while she rubbed her eyes.
"Yes, you're with mama now" Louis said as he gathered her in his arms, and got up with her.
"How are you feeling? How are the babies?" Harry asked.
"I'm alright, a bit tired thought" Louis sighed "And babies are good, I think, growing".
"Good" Harry said and kissed Louis' lips.
"Let's go home, okay?" Louis replied "You must be tired too, we all need a proper sleep".
"Yeah..." Harry admitted.
They took a taxi minivan, because they had too much luggage for a normal car, and it took around an hour, until finally they arrived to a building, and Harry followed Louis inside.
"It's a nice building" Harry said as they walked to the elevator.
"I know, I actually asked if there were any available flats for us to rent long term, but there aren't any, and the one we're in is not available for a long term lease" Louis explained.
