𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟰

Saturday

Seonghwa was walking under the umbrella. Monsoon season started coming around.

He let his hand out for the raindrop to dance on his palm. He smiles

Ever since Seonghwa was younger he liked the rain. He would wear his raincoat and boots and jump on puddles or we would just walk around umbrella-less enjoying the rain.

But of course not everyone enjoys it.

As he looked at the sight of the rain he sees a figure from his peripheral  

"I hate the rain," They said

He was now outside the convenience store, standing under the shelter

"Sunmi?" He calls

She looks in the direction of the person who called.

"Oh, Seonghwa, what are you doing here?" She asked

"My father told me to buy some bread from the convenience store," He holds up the bag of bread to her face

She pushes it lightly and awkwardly laughs 

"What did the rain ever do to you?" He asked

She furrows "I told you everything about what it did," She said

"The weather is hot, making it hard to breathe, When it rains you feel even more suffocating."

"You never played the rain when you were a kid, have you?" Seonghwa asked

"No, Why?"

"I loved playing outside in the rain when I was younger, which is why I know exactly what you need right now."

"What?" Before Sunmi could take in what he just said

He grabs her wrist

"What are you-"

"Memories made in the rain last a pretty long, So let's make some good memories!" Seonghwa pulls her out of the shelter

Their shoes were made in contact with the puddles, and splashes of water started spewing out.

She stops him "Yah Yah, open your umbrella."

"Nope!" He throws the umbrella to the floor, still holding her wrist

Sunmi glares. Just as she was about to squat down to pick it up he quickly runs making her run as well.

"This is the easiest way to feel freedom, getting soaked in the rain while walking around without an umbrella."

"If you've never done it before, you're missing out!" He said while smiling

To her, it felt like the world went into slow motion. How his wet hair bounced, his smile getting bigger and the rain falling beautifully on his face made him look ethereal.

She blushes at the thought 

As they were walking to the apartment complex, under the rain everyone was looking at them, judging them.

He laughs "What's so funny?" Sunmi asked

"People are looking at us."

"They're probably thinking why aren't we running or putting our bags over ourselves," He said

"Yeah, you threw your umbrella and ran off," Sunmi laughs

"But this is more fun than I expected it to be," She said, moving her right leg up as she walks to a puddle and splashes it into Seonghwa

"What are you doing!" 

Sunmi laughs 

"You know when I first met you...can I ask did you walked in the rain because you felt like you had a sense of freedom?"

"No, I walked in the rain 'cause it can't be helped, It was her feelings over mine, She didn't want anything that had to do with me while I wanted everything that had to do with her."

He sighs and then smiles at Sunmi "That was a bad memory, Which is why I wanted to glide across the rain and replace it with good memories." 

Badum Badum Badum

Her heart rate rises

Pitter-Patter the falling rain drops to the leaves of the trees

"It was fun while it lasted, what now?" Sunmi asked

"Honestly, I haven't done this since I was a kid because I hated the part that comes afterwards."

Sunmi gives him a knock on the head. "Where even are we?"

"We ran and walked until we don't know where we are," She said

Seonghwa looks around and sees a bus stop

"Hey, do you have your transportation card or money with you?" He asked

"Uh yeah, some change."

"Let's go to that bus stop and see which bus can lead back to our apartment complex," He grabs her hand and runs

"Oh! I recognise that bus number when I go to campus, it is near our neighbourhood."

They found a route and they had 22 stops

When they entered the bus everyone was staring at them cause why would a bunch of adults walk in the rain?

As they wait for the bus to turn to their stop, they talked

"All of them sound like a lie though!" 

"It's 2 truths 1 lie," Seonghwa said

"There is no way you were part of the cheer team or dance team back in high school."

"Hmm... I'm sure you were in the community service club so???"

"So?"

"Community service club and cheer team," She gives her final answer

Seonghwa moves a strand of hair from her face. But it's not as romantic as you thought though 

He squeezes the wet hair on her face.

"You were in the dance team?!"

He nods "Not only that, I was the captain," He said making her shocked

"Captain? no way."

"Yes, way."

"I'm technically correct, isn't cheering the same as dancing?"

"I don't know I've never been in a cheer team," He said
