Dada, Jennie's lips softly uttered,
inaudible, as she stood transfixed and weak at the knees while she watched the little girl in the dull gray hospital gown sweetly kissed Lisa on the lips. The little girl has baby-pink ribbons on her long black hair. Jennie's heartbeat, like the rest of her world, went on a standstill.

"Alice, introduce yourself to Jennie," Lisa asked the girl.

The toddler looked at Jennie with
questioning eyes, appraising her.

"Hello, my name is Alexis Celine Lee, I'm five years old."

And then Alice walked towards her,
standing on tiptoes so she could shake Jennie's hands.

Her hands are so tiny, Jennie thought.

The girl walked back to Lisa, who was then sitting on the bed, and climbed into her lap.

Lee? But...why not Manoban?

"Dada, I still can't find Pikachu," she told Lisa as she reached for a cellphone underneath her pillow and handed it to Lisa.

The door opened and a woman in her mid-thirties entered the room.

"Dr. Manoban! You're finally back!"
DOCTOR MANOBAN?!

"How are you, Amy?"

"Alice, oh my goodness, get back
to bed! It's almost ten pm! Doc,
Did she call you again on the phone?? "

"It's fine, Amy. How did her EKG go?"

"We're still waiting for the result ,
Doc. Haaay. This little baby keeps on asking for you every day. Don't worry,  I'm going to delete you on speed dial from her cellphone, I'm really sorry, doc. You know, even the other kids have been looking everywhere for you"

Lisa just smiled kindly then looked at Jennie apologetically.

"By the way, this is Jennie.
My future girlfriend."

LORD IT'S TOO MUCH HEART
ATTACKS FOR TODAY PLEASE. I JUST CAN'T, Jennie wordlessly
cried out.

The woman named Amy giggled
excitedly as she shook her hand like her daughter did.

"Hello Jennie. Oh my, say yes already, please. She's kind and good looking, and she's the best pediatrician here. If you let her go, she will be a proxy dada and pokemon hunter for the rest of her life"

"Dada!" Alice called out to Lisa again.

"Oh my god, please don't
misunderstand, Jennie. My daughter calls her dada because she likes her too much. Her real dad is abroad and not around, so she kind of looks up to Dr. Manoban as a dad figure. Even though she's too young, she
doesn't mind at all. So, that's it.
There are three other kids in this
hospital calling her dada too, so
don't be too shocked. The kids are inlove with her,"

Jennie just wanted to collapse on
the floor and get swallowed by the
ground from mortification.

"Is your vacation over, Dr.
Manoban?" Amy asked Lisa.

"I'll be back to work next week, Amy. Fine, I still need to go somewhere with Jennie. I'll check up on Alice when we have her EKG results already, okay? Love you, baby." She kissed Alice on the forehead and stood up.
She sauntered towards Jennie and held her hands again, leading her out of the room.

She calls her her baby, BABE. Jesus take the wheel.

Jennie's feet dragged as she walked
and she felt her knees going weak
from all the sudden information she just gathered.

"The night I met you at the hotel, it
was the last day of a national medical conference that Seoul National University Hospital's hosted for the Pediatric Surgery Pioneer Program launching in Korea. I came as the representative." Lisa confessed as she walked alongside her, matching her pace.

Jennie stopped walking and banged her head on the nearest wall so she could hide the embarassment on her face.

"You'll disturb the babies, Jennie," Lisa lightly chuckled.

When she opened her eyes, she
realized that she was banging her
head on the glass wall surface of the hospital nursery.

"Oh my goooood," she muttered in
surprise.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, sorry..." She
kept on saying, until she started
crying again.

Lisa hugged her from behind, nuzzling her head on the crook of her neck and on her shoulders, Her arms wrapped around her waist.

"You've done nothing wrong. This is
all my fault," she turned her shoulders, willing her to face her.

Lisa touched her forehead and saw that it was a little bit red from colliding against the glass wall. She kissed it gently and wiped her tears.

"does it still hurt?" she asked, kissing her forehead again.

Before she could even manage a
reply, three kids appeared out of
nowhere and ran straight into Lisa,
clinging tightly on her legs.

"Dada!!!!!

Lisa knelt down down to hug them
all and Jennie felt her heart soaring
again.

"Heyyy why are you still awake?" She asked them sternly but without being scary.

"Auntie Amy told us you're here!"

"We missed you Dada!"

"Dada who is she?"

"What's happening?"
Lisa turned to look at her.

"Jennie, this is Sevi, this is Lucas
and this is Mia,"

Later on, Jennie would come to get
to know them better too. Sevi is a
chubby four year-old kid with ADHD, Lucas is a five-year old kid with.acute visual impairment and Mia is a three-year old kid with Leukemia. They, along with Alice, have one thing in common: they all have been diagnosed with heart failure.

Lisa is the hospital's best and youngest pediatrician specializing in cardiology.

At that moment, Jennie's chest ached harder as she envisioned Lisa becoming a parent someday.

"What's happening?" Lucas, who
couldn't see, asked aloud again.

"Dada is kissing a pretty girl," replied Sevi.

"Are you Dada's girlfriend?" Mia
asked.

LORD IS THIS MY LAST DAY ON
EARTH BECAUSE WHY, Jennie
hyperventilated.

"Can I kiss you too?" Sevi asked
Jennie.

When Jennie crouched down to kiss
the baby, Lisa dragged her away before their lips could even touch.

"No, Sevi, only Dada can kiss her."
