Chapter 20

Jennie couldn't help but feel slightly
fed up as she sat across her ex-beauty queen client inside a posh Persian cuisine restaurant somewhere in Seoul. Her phone beeped and it was a message from Lisa.

1:09 PM

Did she change her mind again about the wedding dress?

Jennie sighed.

For the love of everything please. Not the gowns again.

"I just want to thank you for all of
the hard work you've done for my
wedding, Jennie."

She looked up at the woman, and
noticed that for the first time ever,
in the last three months that they've worked together, she was wearing no makeup at all. Jennie realized at that.moment that her client, too, was also extremely tired.

"Jennie. Im sorry, but I'm calling the
wedding off"

Her mind raced with a thousand
questions why, but she knew and
understood that the most respectful
way she can deal with this is to not
ask anything. The bride-to-be spoke
anyway.

"He's too busy. I'm too needy. I think this is not the right time"

Jennie was at a loss for words as
she beheld the former beauty queen smiling genuinely at her.

"The woman you were with last time. Dr. Manoban, right?"
She nodded, curious as to why she
remembered her.

"I can see it in the way she looks at you and the way you look at her--that you would never give each other up, no matter how difficult or how long it takes"

Jennie felt a shiver crawling up her
spine.

Fifteen minutes later, after settling
the remaining financial charges billed and bidding each other farewell, Jennie finally texted her reply back to Lisa.

1:27 PM

She finally made a decision, Lisa. And it was the most confident decision she's ever made.

At past six pm, Jennie was standing
by the sidelines overlooking the
wedding reception being held at
the Folk Arts Theatre where they've
set up a makeshift Hogwarts. It will
never be half as majestic as the real
thing but Jennie felt a sense of pride at her work when she saw how impressed the couple and the guests were with the decorations and all the little details she and her team has.labored to create for the big day. As the food were being served, she took a moment to send a quick message to her girlfriend.

6:22 PM

You know how sometimes Patronus
are subject to change if the caster falls in love?

6:24 PM

You mean like how Snape has the
same Patronus as Lily's because he's been in love with her for a really long time?

6:25 PM

Yes! They have the same patronus,
right? A doe.

Are you going to ask me what I think our patronus will be

When the tossing of the bridal
bouquet was announced, Jennie felt
nostalgic upon remembrance of the
way Lisa kissed her in front of every one.

Am I ready to join the chase this time? Will I catch that bouquet?

She awkwardly walked towards the
front, joining all the single ladies
who were hoping for their happy
ever-afters, after all, she's been
good friends with the couple after
the many months they've worked
together on the wedding. The bouquet was thrown in the air and Jennie stretched her arms as far as she could reach but the bunch of flowers went to someone else.

Maybe this is not out time yes, Lisa.

At nine thirty, when the party finally Wrapped up, she lingered by the path walk, feeling a little sullen.

Maybe I shouldn't be too greedy in
looking for signs.

But the sign came anyway, because
suddenly, she was blinded by the
headlights of an approaching car
which was all too familiar to her.

Lisa came out running to her, carrying a bouquet of fuschia roses, three times bigger than the bridal
bouquet.

"Happy Monthsary, Jennie"
