Chapter 5

Naomi POV

It was just a normal morning and I was on my way to the academy like I always do.

I greeted people I pass by and smiled at them. I then heard someone calling me. "Naomi nee-san, wait up!" a child called me. I turned around and saw Naruto.

"Hello Naruto, what are you doing up so early in the morning?" I said to him. "Ohh, I just thought of a new prank and wanted to do it when I saw you pass by. I wanted to greet you and ask where are you going." He replied. I smiled and ruffled his hair and said, "I'm going to the academy Naruto. It is the weekdays after all. Anyway, have fun but don't overdo it ok?" He smiled at me and said, "Ok Naomi nee-san, don't worry. I'll keep my promise dattebayo." He then run off towards somewhere and I continue going to the academy.

When I arrived, I see a crowd full of fangirls near the entrance and knew who's fangirls they belong to. I mean it's pretty obvious. It's Itachi's fangirls swarming him. Poor him, he can't even have a peaceful morning. I walked pass the crowd and went to my classroom.

It was almost afternoon and the teacher told us that we will be sparring not just us, but with some upper kids. I knew I was going to see Itachi fight and also see Izumi. We went to the training ground and saw the upper kids already there. I spotted both the uchihas standing side by side. 'How cute, I'm excited to see them be together.' I thought to myself.

The teacher then made us all line up and randomly pick two kids to spar with one another. Then it was almost my time. I didn't mind who I will spar with cause I plan to test my speed with this spar to test my limit. The teacher then called a random boy who I identify as the one who pick on Itachi because he is an Uchiha and calling him weak. I smirk cause I wanted to show him that he's the one who's weak. The boy then said, "Sensei, why do I have to fight a weak and pretty girl like her? I bet she can't even fight." I really want to punch this punk. We then started the spar when sensei told us.

It was a quick spar as I got a hold of him and his face was on the ground while my hands were preventing him from moving. Everyone cheered for me as I won but of course, the boy didn't want to accept the fact that he just lost to a girl that was just one year younger than him. He then complain to sensei about how I cheated and all but the teacher knew better and scolded him for trying to frame me.

I was satisfied with myself not going to lie. I was so busy with my thoughts that I didn't notice someone was looking at me all the time with them smirking proudly at me.

After school, I went to the market to buy some groceries. While looking at my list, I saw three raven hair walking towards me. I immediately knew who they are cause who else has raven hair and black onyx eyes other than the uchiha family. So I went to greet them cause it would be rude of me not to. 'Although.... I still don't know Itachi and Sasuke's mothers name yet.... I'll just call her Ms. Uchiha then.' I think to myself.

While I was walking towards them, Itachi greeted me first before I had the chance to. "Ohh hello Naomi. Are you here to buy some groceries as well?". I reply, "Hello Itachi and yes, just finished getting some things here and then I'm going to continue my training. What about you?". Instead of Itachi, his mother replied me first, "Ohh my, I didn't know Itachi made friends with an adorable little girl. Nice to meet you, I'm Itachi's mom, Mikoto. You are the only young lady that I have ever met to be this responsible to buy groceries alone. And yes, Itachi and his little brother here are helping me with groceries." I smile at her and say, "Ohh thank you for the compliment Ms. Uchiha. I'm just doing everything I can do for me as I'm just an orphan living in an apartment that the hokage gave me." She look shock and ask me, "Ohh dear, isn't it dangerous for you to be living alone?" I then say, "I think I prefer living alone rather than staying at the orphanage as I want to live independently and also take care of someone who is also an orphan living next door." She then look at me with sadness in her eyes but still smile at me and ask me, "I see... Who is this other person your talking about? Your family? Friends?" I reply, " His name is Uzumaki Naruto, I'm sure you heard about him. People say he's a monster but I don't think he is. It's not his fault that there family died the day the nine tails attack. And I care for him just like a little brother because I know that deep inside his smile and goofiness. There is sadness in him." She look at me wide eyes before I noticed that her eyes were watery. She then give me a big smile and say, " Dear, if there is anything that I can do to help you. Find me. I would love to help you. After all, you are Itachis friend. Don't be shy to ask for help, okay?" I feel so touched to her words before composing myself and then say, "Thank you so much, I really appreciate that Ms. Uchiha." "Ohh deary, just call me aunty." She said. I then realized that while talking to aunty. We both seem to have forgotten about Itachi and Sasuke.

I then decided to say hello to my past best friend. "Hello, you must be Sasuke. Itachi's little brother, My names Naomi." He then scan me first before replying, "Hello... Nice to meet you Naomi nee-san. Are you nii-san's friend?" I smile at him and say, "Yup, I even train with him together. He and I are sparring partners." Sasuke's eyes sparkle and say, "Wow, you must be really strong to become nii-san's sparring partner. But I bet nii-san is stronger than you." I then say, "You bet he is. Although I'm not that strong. I hope to become the strongest kunoichi." He then said good luck to me and when I wanted to pay for my groceries, aunty stopped me saying, "Naomi dear, would you like to have dinner with us tomorrow? I'm sure Itachi and Sasuke would be delighted." I thought about it for a moment before saying, "Of course, I would love to come. I'm not doing anything tomorrow anyway." Aunty beamed at me and say, "That's great, see you tomorrow then deary." I smile at her and say my goodbyes to the uchiha family.

Mikoto POV

What a nice and adorable young lady. I was so surprised hearing that someone was taking care of Kushina's child. That girl is really brave to defend Kushina's child about him being a monster and all. I'm so happy to have met her here at the market. Although I'm wondering why Itachi never told me about her. I should ask him, "Itachi dear, why haven't you told me you have a friend?" He looked at me and replied, "I just thought it wasn't necessary oka san. But I didn't know she lived alone though...." I can see that he is suprised after knowing that his friend is living alone. I smile at him and told him, "I hope you continue to be friends with her son. She is so independent and kind-hearted. I hope you don't have to break your friendship with her." He then told me okay and we proceed to buy some groceries.
