"Merry Christmas." Noah mutters, thrusting a badly wrapped box into my hands.

"Merry Christmas to you as well." I give him what I hope is a genuine smile. Christmas is here and I'm enjoying the joy and excitement on everybody's faces. After the celebrations are over, Sage and Dillon will gather up their boys and leave.

They're cool people, but I'm ready for the house to go back to normal. Lunch is just as joyous as the rest of the day. I help clean up and then we're waving goodbye. "Make sure you keep in touch." Sage says and I make a promise that I most likely won't keep.

"Sure." I'm the first to break away from the group and I wait for the others on the plush sofa. After all the commotion and excitement, I'm ready for a well deserved nap.

"The boys and I, will be going ice skating, do you want to join?" My eyes snap open as Mercury speaks.

"I think I'm going to take a nap." I try and stifle my yawn and he nods in understanding.

"Alright, well, see you later." He whispers, lingering awkwardly as I wave goodbye. I rush up to my room, stripping out of my clothes and then sliding into the semi cold sheets, with a shiver. I'm ready to doze off, until I hear a knock at my door.

"Come in." I sigh, peeking my head over the covers. "Did you need something, Noah?"

"I wanted to apologize for what I did to you the first day here." His voice is barely above a whisper and I try not to fall asleep on him. Their timing is impeccable.

"It's honestly alright. I'd like to sleep now." I lay back down.

"Yes, we'll be ice skating." He mutters and I give him a thumbs up. When I'm ready to sleep, I can't really think about anything else. When I wake up I'll talk to him more. I think as I drift off.

A loud crash startles me awake, I quietly slip the gun from the nightstand and slide under my bed. "Be quiet. Fan out and find him." The unmistakable voice of my father's friend, Tito, says. I take deep breaths, calling Cory.

"What's-" I cut her off, keeping my voice below a whisper as I strain to hear them.

"They've found me. Send help." I cut the call, and then turn off the phone completely. I can never just nap peacefully.

I tense as I hear footsteps approaching my room. "Tito, I hear sirens headed our way." An unfamiliar voice says.

"Everyone, pack up and get out." Tito's voice is right by my door. "I know you can hear me, Lucifer. Just know that your parents say Hi." Then he's gone.

I turn my phone back on, seeing multiple missed calls and texts from Cory. "Hello?" I sigh into the phone tiredly.

"Thank goodness you're okay. You had me so worried." Then she's rambling. I listen to her talk, the police walking through the house and seeing if the 'robbers' stole anything.

"Listen, I'll call you back." I hang up, rubbing my temples to ease the headache that's starting to form.

"Lucifer, are you alright? We came as fast as we could." James voice cuts through my thoughts and I bring myself back to reality.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I shrug, looking around the house. I see Mercury and Mitel speaking to the police, and I'm assuming Ethan is with the other boys trying to keep them in line. "You should go to the other's." I tell him and he nods, doing as I said.

"They have put two cars on our property, each car has two officers in it." Mercury informs me. "Cory called and she should be arriving on Friday. Do you need anything at all?"

"No, but thank you for your help." I say, genuinely meaning every word. He bows his head slightly, adverting his eyes from mine.

"No need to thank me." He whispers. "I'm going to head to bed now, so, good night." He continues in the same tone of voice.

"Good night, Mercury." I say softly, giving him a smile. He dashes up the stairs and I'm left in Mitel's company. He continues to stare at me and I stare right back, leaning further into the chair.

"This wasn't a robbery." He states and I shrug, not giving anything away. He stares for a couple more minutes before turning around and heading to his room. I sigh heavily, leaning back in my chair. I can feel the anger boiling inside of me at the threat that has been placed on my life by my parents.

"Chase, I'm disappointed in you." I sigh into the phone.

"S-sir, I had n-no idea this would happen." He stutters and I tsks.

"That's the whole point. What am I paying you for if you don't do your job?" I ask him retorically. "I don't like feeling threatened Chase and right now I feel very threatened." I growl, making sure to keep my words hushed.

"Sir, I-I will work harder." He pleads, and I roll my eyes. Pathetic.

"The next time this happens, I will go back on my promise of not killing anymore and I'll kill you." I hiss, hanging up the phone angrily.

I sit in the darkness of the living room, thinking of ways to get rid of the anger inside of me. I head to the gym, deciding that I can workout my stress. By the time I leave out, the sun has just begun to rise and I am drenched in sweat.

I grab a bottle of water from the kitchen, draining it and then grabbing another. I pull the headphones out my ear and focus on controlling my breathing instead. I head to my room, ready to shower, when my eyes connect with Mitel's gaze. He's always watching me and I know he's suspicious of me, yet I don't care.

"Morning." I greet him lazily, then enter into my room for a much needed shower and power nap.
