Regulus rolled his eyes as he walked away from his brother. He was now stuck catching a carriage with the other losers who couldn't get there early enough.

Regulus got into the last carriage where Pandora Storm, a Ravenclaw student, sat alone.

He got into the carriage without saying a word, sitting down.

Throughout the carriage ride, they made polite small talk, finding they had more in common than they would have thought. They had both seen each other in the halls, they even shared a class or two, but they'd never spoken.

The carriage ride ended just as quickly as it began. Regulus and Pandora were the last two to board the train, heading their separate ways to go find a seat.

Regulus found himself in a compartment with his dorm mates, who had left on a carriage without him.

"Regulus, there you are, we thought you were going to miss the train," One of the boys laughed,

"Mh, unfortunately not," Regulus gave a very fake smile.

"Who was that girl you got out of a carriage with? I've never seen her," Another commented.

"Her name's Pandora Storm, she's a Ravenclaw," Regulus shrugged.

"Ooh, a girlfriend?" The Slytherin chuckled.

"Oh please, you know his parents have probably already signed him off to some hot french chick," The other boy chimed in.

Regulus wanted to roll his eyes, but it was true, his parents probably already had some girl picked out for him, whether he liked it or not.

The train ride was pretty unbearable for Regulus, the other Slytherins were quite irritating.

Once the train pulled to a stop, it was around four in the afternoon. People piled out of the train, finding their families who awaited to bring them home for the holidays. Everyone around was looking very chipper as they stood around in their winter robes. Regulus knew that Kreacher was supposed to be picking him up like he did every year, but in a large crowd, the tiny elf was nowhere to be seen. Regulus walked to the back of the crowd to stand in a clearing and wait for the elf, as he'd find him.

Within seconds, there was a startling 'pop' as the house elf appeared beside him.

"Master Regulus," The house elf grumbled.

"Keacher, lovely to see you," Regulus gave a polite smile before Kreacher took a hold of his arm as he transported them to the Black manor.

In the blink of an eye, they appeared in the foyer of the manor.

"Kreacher, do you perhaps know where my parents are?" Regulus asked.

"Mistress Black is seated in the drawing room and master Black is found in his study," Kreacher grumbled.

"Thank you Kreacher, I'll be heading upstairs now," Regulus said, politely excusing himself, heading to his room -in the opposite direction as his parents-.

Sitting in his room, Regulus thought back to his first nightmare which took place in the manor. He was sure his mother had her head back on and wasn't running around decapitated and dead, although he couldn't be too sure, it was never screwed on properly, to begin with.

Somehow, Regulus' mind wandered to a certain memory from the first dream. He remembered James setting of one of the pranks that they had set up during the gala by walking through a random doorway, he wondered if they had actually set up those pranks, maybe his parents had already walked right through them all and set them off, or maybe there were still pranks waiting to be triggered.

Dinner was at seven, just like it was every evening. Kreacher had been sent to get Regulus for dinner before he headed downstairs to sit at the table with his parents. Dinner was lamb, it was a nice change from the usual chicken that was served at Hogwarts, of course, they weren't going to have expensive meats like steak every night, but chicken got old fast, especially the unseasoned meat the school served most nights.

"You know, for a minute there I was starting to think you hadn't actually come home," Orion said, giving his son a pointed look.

"Sorry," Regulus mumbled, not looking at his father.

"Regulus, look at your father when he's speaking to you, and don't mumble, sit up straight," Walburga scolded. Regulus quickly fixed his posture and looked up at his mother.

"Sorry," He said again.

Walburga nodded, "better. How's school? I hope you've been preparing for your O.W.Ls," Walburga commented.

"School's... good, and I believe I'm all ready for my O.W.Ls," Regulus said, despite O.W.Ls not being for another couple of months.

"Well, you better be doing more than just 'believing," Walburga spoke with a disgusted look on her face. "What about quidditch? You haven't been letting your team down, have you?" She asked just as Regulus was about to take another bite of his food.

He sighed, putting his utensils down. "No, I don't think so, we've won our last two games."

"Only the last two?" She questioned with a glint in her eyes, making Regulus pick his fork back up and begin eating, hoping to avoid any more questions from the woman.

Dinner, although it felt like a lifetime away, eventually did end, allowing Regulus to retreat back to his room.

The manor was cold and gloomy, as always. The Blacks didn't decorate for Christmas. Usually, for the gala, they'd make Kreacher put up a wreath or two, but no tree, no gifts and sure as hell, no Christmas carols.

Either way, Regulus did get something for his brother, as well as his friends while he was out in Hogsmeade, they were all small gifts, but he'd left them at Hogwarts for each of them to find on Christmas, Barty would have to wait to get his as he sure as hell wasn't going to just hand him a gift the moment he walks through the door for their annual dinner.

Around nine P.M, a loud 'crash' followed by a 'bang' was heard from downstairs, his mother's doing, no doubt. His assumption was confirmed when he heard his mother screaming. Her voice was so high pitched when mad that he couldn't understand a thing she was saying through the walls and floor difference.
