Eventually, when the house was completely silent, they decided to go back in through the back door. Deciding to stay clear of the foyer, they passed through the kitchen, exiting through the entrance and putting them down the hall leading to the library.

Entering the library, they were greeted by a locked floo system.

"Great, we snuck in for nothing," Sirius complained.

Now would be a great time for them to learn how to apparate, they had their wands on them but couldn't use them to get back to school. They could probably use their wands in the manor without getting into trouble as there's so much magic already used in the house that the ministry wouldn't notice.

They now had to figure out their next plan of action. They were already inside and warm, but if Kreacher knows they were there, he'll probably end up ratting them out, not to forget the fact that Walburga and Orion will both gladly crucio them to death.

"Can't we just accio our brooms?" James questioned as they sat on the couch.

Remus sighed, "Unless you have brooms lying around within the proximity, that won't work," he reminded the other.

"Right," James mumbled. The Blacks kept their brooms out of the house, besides, they only had one broom, they'd thrown out their older brooms and only kept the newest released brand, it was Regulus' second broom, his main one was still at school.

The memory of the first nightmare popped into their minds. They were unable to leave the manor because the floo systems were blocked, they only escaped the house because they jumped out a window, only this time, they ran back into the estate. Maybe later they'd find themselves jumping out another window, but for now, they had to focus.

Thinking about the dream, Regulus thought back to the cabin where they escaped to. That was the one thing that wasn't so realistic, although, during the dream, it felt quite real, he had no memory of the cabin actually existing. It was actually a relief to have even one small thing to distinguish reality from fantasy.

"Do you think this means they know we're still here?" Peter stuttered out.

Regulus was the first to respond, "I doubt they know for sure we're inside, but if you guys arrived through floo, it's safe to say that's how you expected to leave," he explained.

"They'll also probably be on high guards," Remus added.

"Don't forget Kreacher, he'd love to sell me out to Walburga and Orion," Sirius muttered. He's well aware that the elf has always disliked him and favoured his brother.

They were really out of options on what to do. No matter where they were in the manor, they could be found by either Kreacher or Walburga and Orion if they tried hard enough and if they were to go back outside, they'd freeze and be lost, wandering around aimlessly.

Walburga's voice rang through the manor. She was screaming at Orion, it sounded like they were fighting, or rather, Walburga was just letting her anger out on her cousin. She was probably frustrated about losing her youngest son to her eldest son, who she's disowned for being a disgrace to the family.

"Kreacher!" Walburga screeched. Even though the teenagers couldn't hear any more than mumbling from there, they knew that Walburga was furious, and out for blood. She wasn't taking Regulus' actions well, she expected this kind of behaviour from Sirius, and it's why he was disowned, but Regulus was supposed to be her 'do-over', he was supposed to be the perfect son who'd marry a respectful young lady as soon as he graduated from school. It's what his parents had set out for him forever, and what they pushed for even more after Sirius became the family joke.

After about an hour, footsteps could be heard approaching the library, Walburga's, no doubt. Hearing this, the squad made a break for it, hopping off of the couch, Regulus, James and Sirius immediately ran for the stairs, but it would take too long to climb the stairs, Remus and Peter, being at the back of the line wouldn't probably be right in the line for Walburga to shoot the spell of her choice at, so instead, they ducked behind some bookshelves, completely out of sight.

However, who wasn't out of sight was Sirius. Walburga had excellent reflexes and the moment she entered, she sent a spell directly at the moving figure, finding it to be her disowned son as he tripped and tumbled face-first onto the ground.

Even though his foot was bleeding, and most definitely shattered, he still managed to transform into his animagus form and hobble out on his three limbs that were unharmed, having James and Regulus to help him once he was out of the room.

Walburga followed the three boys up the stairs, stepping over the blood from Sirius' foot injury, not noticing the absence of the two other boys.

Behind the bookshelf, Remus was holding his breath, even Peter was doing so, even though he had turned back into his rat animagus and could practically hide anywhere and still be unseen.

At this point, they'd done the one thing they were planning not to do, they had split up. Walburga could still be heard screeching, but not in a joyful way, she sounded just about defeated, which meant she had yet to catch the other three.

Remus and Peter were worried for their friends. Remus had seen Walburga shoot that spell at him, he wasn't certain what spell she had hit him with, but the fired spell had left a line of scarlet magic, which meant it could have been Expelliarmus, but also a number of other spells. Upon being hit, Sirius had let out a cry in pain and there was an obvious thump as his body had hit the ground, but he'd gotten back up, meaning it couldn't have been too bad, but Remus, nor Peter had actually caught sight of how bad it was.

The two Gryffindor boys stayed hiding behind the bookshelf for another while just to make sure they were safe. They didn't want to leave and walk around the manor aimlessly, but they also needed to find their friends before they were found by either of the elder Blacks.
