"We should go find Moony, he'll be able to cast a patronus," James suggested.

"We could do that, but there's really no point, now is there?" Regulus rolled his eyes. They didn't need to go sneaking back inside just to sneak back out later, they may as well wait it out.

Dream number 1, Regulus woke up after dying, same with the second dream, that's how dreams worked, you always woke up after dying, so they just had to wait it out and they'd all wake up unless it's just been one colossal dream and he hadn't actually been waking up.

Regulus supposes that there really isn't really a way to tell for sure if he was dreaming or not, that's what messed with his head the most.

"Why is there no point?" James exclaimed, "Are we dead? Did we die!?"

"No, Potter, we're not dead, unfortunately." He sighed. "This isn't actually happening," Regulus said, with his arms crossed over his chest.

James looked confused at the younger teen, "So we are dead," he questioned.

"We're dreaming," Regulus stated as if it were obvious. "Or, at least I am, this is my dream."

"Then why am I in your dream?" James countered.

Regulus didn't know what to say, it was all very weird. "I don't know," he scoffed.

"Dream about me often?" James asked, with a slight grin plastered on his face.

"Sorry, 'dream' was the wrong word, I meant nightmare," Regulus corrected himself.

"Wow, I think that's the first time you've ever apologized to me," James stated in amazement.

Peter and Remus stayed in the library in hopes that their friends would return. The house had been completely silent for about an hour now. None of the Blacks had been seen or heard from by anyone, they could be anywhere in the manor.

The two boys were still seated behind a bookshelf, not daring to raise their voices louder than a whisper. It had been too long since they'd seen their friends, they knew that they couldn't stay there the whole time, they'd heard Walburga screaming spells at someone, she was a powerful witch, it would be next to impossible for any of the teenagers to beat her in a duel.

Finally, the two friends got up, off of the floor, and headed for the center of the library, Remus casting a charm to lock the door first. The charm wouldn't keep anyone out of the room, but if the doorknob were to jiggle, they'd hear it and you at least have some sort of indication in advance, of course, the upstairs door was still unlocked, but hopefully, they'll hear footsteps above them before anyone could reach them. The only problem was, Kreacher could appear anywhere with no indication, so they still had to be cautious.

"What do we do now?" Peter questioned, breaking the silence.

"I'm not sure, it would be quite helpful right now if we had a marauders map of the manor," Unfortunately, it took years to perfect the original map, there were still a few kinks in it that needed to be worked out.

Truthfully, while at the gala, Remus did record a rough blueprint of certain main hallways in the Black manor, but in order for the map to work accurately, he'd need all the dimensions to create a to-scale blueprint. In addition, it would still take a year or so to complete the new map.

There were a few ways to speed up the process, but without each hall and room drawn out, there was room for people to disappear on the map and reappear out of nowhere.

In all actuality, it would still be worth a shot to attempt to make, it couldn't hurt to try, and so they began discussing.

"But don't we need to marinate the parchment for several months?" Peter questioned. They had originally attempted to create the map without this major step and it had majorly failed.

Remus sighed, "I put it in Prongs' mom bag," he spoke calmly. He wasn't sure if his friend was aware of this information, but he had placed it there for safe keeping weeks before. His mom bag was always so packed that he wouldn't notice the difference, besides, he brought that thing wherever he went, no exceptions.

Remus was pacing back and forth as he pondered. There had to be something they could do instead of sitting there and doing nothing.

Peter was seated on the couch, staring at the floor, when Remus finally took his wand out of his left boot.

"It's been quite," He pointed out the obvious. "I hate to say it, but we should go out and take our chances,"

Peter, although didn't like the sound of his plan, knew they had to get out of there, and hopefully find their friends, go he too, grabbed his wand, his from his pocket.

Remus was leading the way, and so he slowly unlocked the large, oak wood doors, waiting a moment to listen for any sudden movements, before he swung the door open, a bit too hard, wincing at the creak of the door, followed by the slam of the door behind them.

Luckily, the house was still silent, so they continued to approach the entry way, making their way down the hall leading away from the library, when right in front of them, Kreacher appeared.

"Fuck," Remus silently swore to himself.

Kreacher began mumbling incoherent nonsense, the only thing either of the others could understand was: "bringing filth into-" before it was unaudiable once again, even for Remus' sensitive hearing.

"Wormtail," Remus whispered as hushed as he could. "Use your animagus and make a run for it while you can, I'll be right behind you," Remus promised.

Peter was reculent with this plan, Remus didn't have an animagus to excape with, and he couldn't duel either Blacks without any backup, even with backup he'd need a lot of it.

"What about you?" Peter questioned. He knew he wouldn't be right behind him.

"I'll be right behind you," He repeated. "Trust me, before we loose this opportunity," Remus whispered back.

"Kreacher was just about finished his grumbling rant, he wouldn't be distracted for much longer.

"I know what I'm doing," Remus reassured, and that was all the other needed to hear before he jumped into his rat form, and scurried down the hall.

The sight of the scrawny boy disappearing snapped Kreacher out of his zone, snarling. He was just a snap away from calling Walburga and Orion Black.
