Mabel marched down the Hufflepuff stairwell. She slammed her sister's dorm door open. "Where are my slippers?" Mabel huffed.

Hannah sat on her bed with a book in her lap. She looked up. "I don't know. I don't have them."

"Yes, you do," Mabel argued.

"No, I don't." Hannah looked down, reading her book. Mabel exhaled sharply out of her nose. She stomped into Hannah's dorm. Mabel threw open her trunk. She pushed passed her sister's neatly folded shirts and trousers, digging for her slippers. Hannah grabbed a decorative pillow from her bed and chucked it at Mabel. Mabel stood up.

"Ow!" Mabel grumbled. She looked at her sister with wide eyes and a tense jaw.

"Did you ever think that—I don't know, you left them at home?" Hannah flailed her arms. "Now get out of my room!" She threw another pillow at Mabel.

"You have it! I know you do!" Mabel caught the pillow before throwing it directly into Hannah's face. Mabel went back to digging through the trunk. Hannah caught a glimpse of her sister's mess with her newly folded clothes. Anger bubbled under Hannah's skin. She rushed to the trunk. She slammed the top shut. Mabel's werewolf reflexes were the only reason her fingers didn't get crushed underneath the heavy lid. Mabel stumbled back. Her jaw slacked in shock as she stared back at Hannah. "You bitch!" Mabel stomped out of the dorm room, slamming the door behind her.

Mabel ran downstairs, finding Cedric sitting on the couch. He had a foot on his knee. He leaned into the couch while he read a book. Mabel huffed as she threw herself on the sofa next to him. Her aggressiveness caused the couch to bounce Cedric. He turned to her with a cocked eyebrow.

Mabel glanced at him. "Hannah stole my slippers," she huffed. Cedric exhaled sharply through his nose, snorting. "Those were my favourite slipper, Cedric."

"All that yelling for a pair of slippers?" Cedric folded his book closed, putting his pointer finger in between the pages like a bookmark.

"They were my slippers." She looked at him with widened eyes like a puppy. Cedric once again snorted. "You don't get it. You're an only child."

"Not at Hogwarts. You're here," Cedric said. He looked at Mabel and smiled.

"That's not the same. I don't steal your stuff," Mabel added.

"Well..." Cedric's voice was high-pitched as he questioned her.

"I borrow. Borrow. Hannah steals, and she stole my slippers!" Mabel grumbled.

"I see." Cedric smiled, suffocating his laugh.

"It's not funny."

"I'm not laughing."

"If you're just going to laugh at me, I'm going to leave." Mabel stood up.

"Or...we can go to the forest?" Cedric stood up slowly, mindlessly putting a bookmark in his book.
